You can even stay in the same secure job but if your pay increases at a lower rate than inflation then you gradually become poorer.
Very true but they certainly could be sure they could afford them for the first few years at least before having them.

The problem with that is that some people were doing ok less than 12 months ago, have started a family moved to a bigger house etc and everything was looking rosy but now the good jobs have gone / business down the pan, house they can't afford and can't sell and they can't move and it's none of their doing.

If it's all gone to pot in less than 12 months then they couldn't afford the first few years.
We certainly wouldn't have had our children without that safety net it's not fair on the children they have to come first.
Children are a massive commitment and shouldn't be taken lightly as some do.

I'd pinch that BS bit and have it as: Disturbing Bull$*** Superspreader.
Odd as it sounds, I think Said would find solace in that title.

There are many reasons why people suddenly find themselves in financial hardship, not everyone has that "safety net", sure there are those who lead a chaotic lifestyle, but equally there are many more who were coping just fine until the virus hit, plus it is more than likely that there are a large number coping, but without a huge cash reserve, a sudden cut or even absence of earnings very quickly has an effect.

Things have changed nowadays, if people wait until they can afford it they never will, there has to be a leap of faith.
