Yes let's all fill our cavity walls with insulation then when the damp starts we can all get in touch with Cavity Wall Claims are Us.
I don't suppose thousands of cars trapped on a Motorway with their engines running does the environment much good but they haven't got the brains to think about that.
My house is 150 years old with Double Glazing/ Loft Insulation/ Central Heating with thermostats but it will never have a feature to stop damp filled in to appease idiots.

There are already government grants available for insulation and for more efficient boilers. New homes have to meet very strict regulations on energy efficiency. Legislation has been enacted, wrongly in my view, to ban gas boilers going forward. We are streets ahead of most of the world in our 'green' policies and work to protect the environment. Why do these virtue signalling anarchists never target the Chinese, Russian or Indian embassies and make a fuss about the massive pollution and destructions of the planet those countries continue with? They are nothing more than overgrown student Trots with nothing better to do with their time than cause massive inconvenience for decent working people. I'd water cannon the lot of them.
I'm only happy when it rains....

Our home has cavity wall insulation, has been in place for over 20 years with no problems whatsoever, the problem seems to be simply some houses are suitable for cavity insulation, some most certainly aren’t can anyone truly identify which houses will benefit from insulation and those which should be left well alone.
The average householder certainly won’t know and the firms who do cavity wall insulation are only interested in doing the work.
The protesters are total idiots, sure we know of their existence but certainly not advancing their cause, quite the reverse in fact creating hostility is not a good idea when trying to promote anything.

What sort of glue glues your hand to the road surface?, I reckon if you were to look like you were about to stomp on their hand they would move it in a flash .

It’s likely that the scum currently blocking the M25 don’t go to work, and are more than happy to avail themselves of the benefits system. Accordingly, while they are busy disrupting the lives of hard working taxpayers, they are unavailable to look for work, and should have any benefits stopped.

Looking at the news footage and an interview on the BBC the majority of the protestors are more likely in receipt of their pension than benefits.

Super glue is very effective at sticking skin and not a good idea to just pull it off, personally clear two lanes and leave the rest stuck to the road, probably change their minds about sitting on an active road.

Or why not fit insulation instead of waiting for the "guvvernment" ie us to do it.
These protestors could do something constructive like fit it and get my support.

Heating, motor vehicles and aviation are where the biggest gains are to be made in cutting CO2, so it makes perfect sense to outlaw gas heating asap.....There are significant lifestyle changes that have to be made now, if we're to avoid becoming 'Hothouse Earth'.

Shouldn’t you add, stop burning trees to that.

changes are underway but it will take time, you can’t just “flick a switch”.
Truth is, we (the UK), could all use electric cars, stop using gas and go vegan tomorrow and it wouldn’t even put a dent in the problem.
These numpties should be targeting the likes of the embassy’s of China, India, United States, Russia, Japan etc who are among the biggest polluters in the world.
It doesn’t matter what we do (except feel good and take a pat on the back) if the others don’t change their ways.

There is no need to ban gas boilers.
From what I understand a few small tweaks could mean most boilers, and the entire grid, could run on green hydrogen.
I'm not a gas fitter, so maybe someone else could explain how, but the Danish are very excited about it. To the point of putting plans together for domestic hydrogen generators.
Probably better than removing gas boilers and adding air source heat pumps at a cost of about 10k a piece just to buy one, then fit underfloor heating etc.

Yes, mostly middle class professionals taking time off, and pensioners.
The days of 'Swampy' up trees seem to be long gone. Climate change (should) concern all of us.

There are primarily two types of ASHP’s, Air to Air and Air to Water.
Most of us have “wet” central heating (gas or oil boiler with radiators), if you swapped your existing boiler with an ASHP the heat transfer to the water in the central heating system is far lower than that of a conventional boiler.
Therefore the existing radiators wouldn’t get hot enough to heat the room, you would need to change all of your rads to much larger ones, possibly having to re- pipe the whole system.
ASHP’s work better with Underfloor Heating, not always easy, sometimes impossible to retrofit to existing properties and can be very expensive.
Homes would need to be very well insulated, not easy in some houses, particularly listed or older Victorian homes.
ASHP’s become less efficient at lower external temperatures, resulting in huge bills and cold homes.
So all in all, far from ideal, big initial cost, probably larger bills particularly in very cold weather, also you would need another source (electric) for your hot water as the temperature produced isn’t enough to heat the cylinder to the required temperature.
You will need to run your heating for more hours at a lower temperature to get any benefit.
