I suppose it is hard to respond to my post.

Yes, you can always critique those that do but that old Chestnut about Hitler doesn't go away.

You do know that the Western democracies had no interest in opposing Hitler until the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact left them with no choice, don't you?

Or didn't they mention that in The Dangerous Book for Boys?

I expect you would have to go back a lot further to find a 70 to 80% youth mortality rate.

In fact, it can be seen that the world youth mortality rate graph, which dates back to 400 BCE, records an example high of 62% in Mexico between 550-700 CE.

Your link shows youth mortality extremely high in Poland & Germany at the end of the 19th century (55% & 60%), the habits of large families take many generations to decline, it has only declined in the 20th century due to cleaner water supplies, sewage systems and healthcare improvements and in the second half a rapid decline due to contraception becoming widely available.

You've already said that. In fact my comment on the human cost in Iraq was a response to the first time you mentioned it. A civilian death toll of about 250,000, which is apparently a very conservative estimate. Perhaps you should ponder on the effect that would have on any country's citizens.

Nobody seems to know what Bomb Boy's ideology was. As yet there's no evidence of radicalisation. There is, however, evidence that he was suffering from mental health problems.

    B) Those of a terrorist nature who blend in with regular migrants having 'death to the infidels' on their minds, won't necessarily wait years before becoming violent.
Good grief! The 9/11 attacks were planned beforehand, long before any of the perpetrators entered the US. These men weren't immigrants who became radicalised. As I said, their sole purpose for entering the US was to carry out the attacks. The would be pilots started flight training shortly after they arrived.

    That's a strange interpretation.

No mention whatsoever of our "missionary work" just a frank realisation of how things were.

While there's no doubt the Liverpool bomb caused terror, they haven't established a motive yet, have they? In much the same way the man who stabbed 8 people in Birmingham literally caused terror, he was a paranoid schizophrenic.

There's an assumption the Liverpool attacker did it for some religious reason, and he probably did. But we don't actually know yet. I don't think there's any doubt he was mentally ill.

I suppose there's a possibility of jihadists entering the country via the extremely perilous route of tiny boats crossing the channel. Hell of a risk though. A trek of 1000s of miles, then being detained in France for who knows how long, then finding a trafficker to get you onto a boat, then surviving the crossing. Then hoping you don't get detained for who knows how long while you seek asylum. Then getting through the asylum process. Then blowing yourself to bits?

Seems quite a high risk way of getting here to take out a few 'infidels' to me. I'm sure some do, but I'd wager that most of those 'of interest' to the authorities nowadays are born here, then become brainwashed online. Like the majority of extremists, whatever it is they are 'extreme' about.

Or maybe just turns up at Calais and gets or even organises the boat?

Maybe. But unless they are French they must have travelled through other countries to get to Calais. And still have to go through the rest of the process.

It seems far more likely to me that someone becomes radicalised here, rather than going through such a perilous undertaking.

His former address was an asylum seekers hostel, there may be a link there but those arrested the following day were soon released.

I do think your White Men in White Hats riding to the rescue view of history would be quite endearing - in a seven year old boy in the nineteen fifties. Perhaps Desert Region could create a history curriculum for you. I would suggest he starts with Gunga Din and Birth Of A Nation.

Read again, I didn't say that or anything like it just pointing out the reality of what existed before we arrived and afterward.

Perhaps a comprehension test for you?

    In 1950, the UK's rate was 4.20%.
    Germany's 60% rate refers to a period dated from 1692 to 1879.
Poland recorded a 55&% rate in 1875 - 146 years ago, or about six generations ago.

More than several generations ago, more than not to long ago.
And still no 70% or 80% youth mortality rate.

From: the London School of Economics and Political Science...

Dr Wilson said: “In general, this research dispels the myth of the large immigrant family. On average we see that the completed family size of foreign-born and UK-born women has been almost identical for everyone who was born after the 1950s. Although we do see some significant differences for older generations, these are only evident for some countries of origin.

“It seems to be very rare now for any group of immigrants in the UK to have more children than the UK norm, and this is also true for the children of immigrants. For some groups, such as those from North Africa and the Middle East, the children of immigrants even have smaller families than the UK norm.”
