Nobody doubts that conspiracies exist and that there have been notable ones in the past.

It is no doubt foolish to believe everything you are told. But it is equally foolish to , by default, believe NOTHING you are told.

Now we have a blizzard of them, greatly assisted by social media as millions read them and embellish them. Q Anon is at the moment the zenith...someone has managed to cobble together a whole string of them, so there's something there for everyone...a sort of Quality Street approach.

I still reckon the mighty Q is similar to the Mighty Oz. Some Incel neckbeard on a PC in his mother's basement. All smoke and mirrors, only 'Q' just has to tap a few keys to produce the illusion.

People are desperate to believe something. Some particularly impotent, angry types especially. I'd bet the Venn Diagram of MAGAts, Q-Anoners and anti-vaxxers is almost a perfect circle. Just as here they'd be Tommy Robinson supporter types, Brexiteers and anti-vaxxers. Again not a perfect circle there, but one hell of a tight overlap.

Maybe some people need to believe there are dark forces at work. Or, in the case of incidents like Sandy Hook, it's easier to believe that there's a government cover up rather than the problem is with society itself. Gun ownership, mental health issues, that sort of thing.

I must admit, aside from the utterly bizarre Pizzagate and JFK returning types, there are a few entertaining theories. The Moon Landings theory was a good one. Apart from science.

I did watch a 2 hour long Youtube video that indeed linked the whole thing, Trump being some kind of Messiah sent to save America, Hillary Clinton being the virtual anti-Christ, Freemasonry, Jews (of course...), JFK jr, Covid, the whole shebang. Obviously I approached it with a whole sea of salt, rather than a grain, but despite the professional look of it, you'd have to be Olympic level gullible to be taken in by it.

But some are. And as bensherman said, somebody is monetising it. Snake-oil salesmen preying on the vulnerable. Only problem is, as on January 6th, enough of them together means trouble. I still reckon the anti-vax mob are going to escalate into deadly violence soon. Led by the nose, seeing demons / the Illuminati / gene manipulation / aliens / whoever lurking behind every jab.

Explain how a Venn Diagram can be a perfect circle when Venn diagrams are depictions of many various groups? None will be of all and all will be of none.

What has Brexit got to do with Anti-vaxxers, or Tommy Robinson for that matter? These have very little connection to a Venn diagram since they are mainly individual groups with only a minor connection to one another.

Can you explain why males and females were shown praying side by side in that mosque? Can you explain why blood was spattered all over the people and the floors but none on the walls? Can you explain why a man was covered in splattered blood but had none on his shoes, face or hands? Can you explain how the shooter filmed himself shooting in the mosque? What is YOUR theory?

A vaccine campaign is a public health policy. We live in families, communities and society. Vaccines facilitate societal living. A vaccine's aim is to prevent and/or lessen - not to harm!

I can imagine anti-vaxxers likening a mandatory vaccination to 'being stabbed', etc. They'd probably seek 'justice' against a surgeon who'd saved their life for 'wounding with intent' and want the anaesthetist done for 'intoxicating' them!

If there were an online referendum with the choices being vaccination optional vs vaccination mandatory I feel the mandatory option would be the clear winner.
