We really need a GE.

A very interesting article from the Byline Times - imagine if the EU were behaving as the UK is now.....

It's very easy to see why the Tories want to get rid of C4 in its present form - "you must be furious with whoever signed up to a deal this bad?" - OUCH!

But then again - people never stop to evaluate such speeches until many years later, do they? If you put two and two together at the time after having read the agreement - it was obvious that the agreement was open to changes being made at a later date.
BJ was trying to placate the EU and the electorate. There was no need for all the fuss over the Irish Borders, Norway and Sweden have been operating a similar border for a long time now.

That type or any other type of border is unacceptable to the DUP.

What effect will the UK unlawfully altering the NIP have?
Will it constitute a breach of the whole Brexit negotiation?
If so, does that lead to the hardest Brexit?
As far as I can see, the only way out of this is a permanent border in the Irish Sea, with N.I. goods (and all goods going through NI) conforming to EU regulations - whether the DUP like it or not.
Anything else breaches the Good Friday Agreement. The EU has a right to protect its borders, whether we like it or not. Putting a hard border on the island breaches the GFA. Breaking promises to the DUP is a whole lot safer than breaking the GFA.
So, sea border it has to be. Unless the EU gives us particularly favourable T&Cs. Which every other third country will demand afterwards. So that won't happen.

Very true! The DUP want independence from both the EU and the UK - but they face a slight problem - they cannot afford to.

The DUP has been in decline for decades, fortunately, and if they don't get what they want, great.

This is your prime minister
https://twitter.com/MarinaPurkiss/st...mpty-handed%2F
Are you like me, ashamed we let him have the job?
This was after his phone call with Michael Martin, who described it as the worst phone call of his political career; incoherent, rambling about "sovereignty" , and all the rest.
Meanwhile the idiot Truss is on a phone call with the EU which made them "extremely angry".
This has to stop.

Blimey the old bitter remainer Purkiss is still at it,
isn't it time she got a life and did something constructive?
She's still a knob.
She should stand for Parliament
If Boris is making Martin Happy he is failing us badly.

Some interesting replies to that tweet.
This one from Katy Brand and the linked article here chills me to the bone. That people follow these soulless psychopaths unquestioningly is a terrible indictment of the ingrained servitude of many in this country. Same with the Royals. They are not our betters. They just have an sense of entitlement that belongs in the distant past.

Can't believe we have got this far without some mention of the ERG and Russian influence.
It used to be an old staple.
Then there was always a no deal claim.
The oven ready bird having a sell by date I suppose neuters that old chestnut.
Then I suppose the acceptance by both sides at the time of signing that it wasn't a done deal lays another few myths to rest.
What will the groupthink come up with next?
Murdochs? very quiet on them.
Or my personal favourite disaster capitalists, who make money out of others misfortune which creates a very long list.

You have clearly run out of road. Why not admit it?
