Emergency Services
When an ambulance has to respond to a 999 call, it is no longer allowed to run red lights and the driver has to keep within the speed limits.
Do you agree with that?
I believe strongly that when there is a true need for a life saving emergency, then that should take priority over any other motorist/pedestrian on the road because they have full warning of an approaching emergency vehicle. Every effort should be taken to save the lives of those who did not get the chance of a prior warning.

Cut price Items
I was in Morrisons this evening just after they had reduced prices on some of the fresh goods.
I did not get much chance to discover what had been reduced, nor to take advantage of the low cost items because they were snatched up by overseas people new to the town.
There are a huge number of local families finding it extremely difficult to cope with the high costs and would love to have the opportunity to get goods at lower prices. I cannot see a way to get round that, but it is unfair.

Roads are so full nowadays, it's probably become a question of balancing saving a patients life, with the likelihood of accidentally creating more 'patients'....Wonder if they'll decide to apply the same ruling to Police?

The ambulance crews have gained far more respect than the Police - and they are more likely to be able to save lives. Any idiot who does not hear an ambulance siren or fails to notice flashing lights, etc., may also need to seek medical help or at least remove his ear deafeners.

Thanks Hamble, she was discharged this morning. They found she still had the meningitis virus in her body, gave her a drip of antibiotics at 2am

That's good
As to the original post, I can't find any record of ambulances having their red light exemption revoked.
Mind you, no amount of being cautious helps too much if you are on the other road and as far as you are aware permitted to cross, but an ambulance appears at right angles to you.

Hope that your daughter continues recovery and you have some time
to yourself.

Sounds daft enough to be true.
I suppose we might as well get rid of the bright lights and noisy sirens as well, stop overtaking and I suppose remove the signage.

appears to support the claim.
Our "woke" lunacy is racking up victims.

Sometimes in the interests of comfort for the patient the ambulance will travel slower, sometimes a lot slower.
