Proportional Repesentation (PR)
Modernising our voting system, would make a huge difference. At present, unless we're very lucky, just one party gets to rule us each time around. Once elected, they can do whatever they like for the next four or five years, not always for the best.
Whereas, PR would tend to result in coalitions, where the 'junior partner/s' in a coalition have a moderating effect on the proceedings. Threatening to dissolve the coalition, if the main party wanted to do more extreme/stupid stuff.

In principle PR should work well. However that is not always the case. Unless the major parties (i.e. Labour or Conservative.) have a clear majority over all parties, it can result in chaos, with everything taking twice as long to get done. If it ever gets done at all.

Is that such a bad thing? Imo, the less the dummies at the top do, the better for all concerned!

What a daft comment :rolleyes . Of course it’s a bad thing unless of course, you’re happy with development stagnation. I can assure you that the PR system produces as many frustrations for ordinary voters as, those you have now. The “talking heads “ that electors vote for don’t change. Neither do their claimed abilities.

Disagree....More or less all our woes have come about due to those at the top forever changing things and making a b@lls of it......If it were me, I'd stand on a ticket of: 'it ain't broke, don't fix it'.

What makes you think that the bad changes and balls-ups under a PR system are any less frustrating. I’ve been voting here for most of the last 50 years and I can assure you that the constant changes woes and co*k ups are no less here, than those you’ve experienced.
Perhaps you should form a “Ranting Cyclists Party”, get voted in and then start kicking a few heads, until things change for the better.

Has he ever made anything other than a daft comment? The bloke’s got the brains of a rocking horse.

For a start, I'd make it a policy that any politician who 'jumps ship' and resigns from a party cannot automatically stay an MP for the new party, and would have to be elected at the next election.

Nobody automatically stays as an MP, they all have to stand for re-election.
