Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan shreds a copy of the UN charter with a small machine he brought with him onto the podium at the General Assembly plenum as he expresses his opposition to a vote in the body to boost the standing of the Palestinian observer mission to the UN and urge the Security Council to reconsider its decision last month to reject an application to grant the mission full-member status.

The Security Council surely would not allow Palestine full membership with Hamas terrorists in charge would they?

Morning Hamble
Firstly the UN should get their own house in order before they jump the gun and make decisions over GAZA.
It’s a wee bit premature to take such a debatable stand.
Before agreeing to such a controversial step, I would think, that priority is to get a stable government in place of Hamas …
Are Hamas and their supporters getting rewarded by the UN for the atrocities and massacres of 7/10.
OMG….first get rid of HAMAS.

Absolutely shippy.
Statehood will not stop Hamas fighting they want Israel land too.
Priorities here.
Palestine must free the hostages.
Hamas must be removed from Palestine.
Then Statehood through negotiation of the 'day after' for Israel and Palestine.

Israel orders new evacuations in Gaza’s last refuge of Rafah as it expands military offensive
RAFAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — Israel ordered new evacuations in Gaza’s southern city of Rafah on Saturday, forcing tens of thousands more people to leave as it prepared to expand its military operation deeper into what is considered Gaza’s last refuge, in defiance of growing pressure from close ally the United States and others.
…
At least 19 people, including eight women and eight children, were killed overnight in central Gaza in strikes that hit Zawaida, Maghazi and Deir al-Balah, according to Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital and an AP journalist who counted the bodies.
“Children, what is the fault of the children who died?” one relative said. A woman stroked the face of one of the children lying on the ground.

Peter Beinhart is a comitted one State Zionist.
"Gaza is ruled by Hamas a Terrorist organisation elected by Gazan's
"Palestine is ruled by Fatah elected by the Palestinian people.
"Fatah have delayed elections as they fear they will lose power.
"Recognising Fatah and the Palestinian people in an Independent State would be workable.
"Who in their right mind would give independence to Radical Islamist Hamas?" |
The living situation of Jews and Arabs in Israel-Palestine must be judged to have deteriorated in the intervening three years!
For 57 years Israel has controlled all the territory west of the River Jordan. Israel is "an army with a state"; it is in a permanent conflict. Jews in Israel (and elsewhere) suffer, if less so than the Arabs whose lives are controlled by an oppressive state.
Israeli governments have never wanted the 'two-state solution' fair-minded people recognize. However much they cajole the international community, uncompromising Zionists' path to peace is perpetual war until the Palestinians capitulate. Only equal rights for all will make a peaceful resolution possible.
Peter Beinart "a comitted one State Zionist"? You are a one State Zionist evidently in the grip of incessant delusion.

Yet another lengthy missive from propaganda central.
A one-state solution, in any of its forms, is unrealistic in my opinion.

Not sure if you misquoted me there?
The West Bank is ruled by Fatah.
Gaza you accept is run by the Radical Islamic Terrorist group Hamas
which even you stated needed to go.
There is a De facto State of Palestine (with Gaza as a 'no go' area for Jews).
The De Facto State of Palestine was at Civil War with Israel before October 7th.
Not all Palestinians support Hamas.
Before October 7th 150,000 Palestinians living in the West Bank travelled daily to work in Israel.
2 million Former Palestinian Arabs live in The State of Israel under Zionism.
It does not matter what you or I want for Israel and Palestine.
The fact is that Palestinian's in the De Facto State of Palestine
want Independence.
Israel has her Independence having accepted partition in 1948
which Palestine refused.
Palestine was handed peace on a plate. As the the gripe was racism not land,Control not coexistence, hate not hope the bitter fight go's on.
I am not deluded just fearful that after October 7th attack rape kidnap
murder and torture the Israeli voters prepared to listen to a 'Two State Solution' will evaporate.
