In the early hours this morning Officers from Sefton Targeted Team located and arrested James GELLING, 30 years of age, at an address in Southport for a Prison Recall and other matters.

Ironically GELLING taunted Merseyside Police 2 days ago on social media with a photo of Copy Lane Police Station and the caption 'wanted tho'.

Merseyside Police can now confirm that GELLING is 'no longer wanted tho' and is at Copy Lane Custody Suite awaiting his return to prison.

Excellent work by the Police.

I'm not sure prison is what this young chap needs. I think he needs a psychiatric hospital for a very very very long time. What a waste of life.

Why did'nt they have a GPS Tracker fitted to him,save the hassle of searching for the scroat,wasting public money with the Police having to search for him..............................................Putting him in a more secure place next time would stop him from escaping,preferably in a box,and then buried in concrete would suffice.

Don’t insult cockroaches! I googled their good points.
They are of course part of the food chain and essential to some plants. birds, insectivorous mammals.

Yes, I am sure you are right, I remember that incident.
I just object to your comparison with pond life. I do not think he has that many brain cells or is that necessary to any ecosystem.

Think it was him, or possibly one of his brothers, they do seem to be regularly up to their scrawny necks in some trouble or other.

I must apologise to all our pond-dwelling readers, and that includes plaster gnomes with fishing rods, who also have more brain cells than Gelling.

And yet, aside from all the comparisons, it is desperately sad that this young man seems to have settled for a life in and out of prison. What a waste. He seems able-bodied and could be a useful member of society. I am sure he just needs help to see where his life is going.

True, he seems to be a victim of his parenting and family values: I think he is the youngest and if I remember correctly, he is not the only one in the family to have found himself in trouble - crime and unacceptable behaviour seems to be the family business.
Any social worker who thinks they can turn that family around, may well be living not in High Park, but Cloud Cuckoo Land.

As you say, he is a victim of his upbringing. But can he contemplate with satisfaction middle-age, old-age continuing with this pattern of life? Surely not.
