What can you do with a corrupt, lying government? And this isn't party politics - they just happen to be the government of the day.
Yes, he's gone to the police: Grauniad. A Durham councillor has also written to the Chief Constable with a complaint.
I'm so hoping Pippa Crerar has a hat trick lined up.

"It’s not often a politician calls a press conference...
... And if the police hand you a fine, forward it to Downing Street. Boris will sort it for you."
This has always been my argument against Johnson. He's an arrogant, entitled, nasty piece of work that has made a career of lying. Not opinion, just facts that even the biggest DePiffle apologist knows is true. When I heard him utter the words 'father's instinct', I could hear the entire country snort with derision.
He has, as one Conservative politician said, hollowed out the core of the Tory party and filled it with inadequates and sycophants. The very worst bunch to handle our current situation.
Even the SAGE scientists are turning on him now, with 3 of them publicly voicing their disapproval, with rumours of more to come. I don't think this story is going to fizzle out in a few days.

Hancock Half Hour today was so transparent not even the most dyed in the wool Blue Blooded Tory could have believed the story, not even Enid Blyton could have written it. If he hasn't gone by the end of the Bank Holiday Weekend Bojo won't see the next one at Downing St he's nailed his colours to firmly to the Cummings mast.

I'm not expecting 'local' to be on here 24/7, but I hope he/she sees that the witness he was talking about has indeed come forward and reported his sighting of Cummings to the police.

Now I KNOW those reports are bs! SAGE comprises of around 50 personnel. The huge majority of which are not virologists or anywhere near. Of these, less than one third are scientists while the others are Government civil servants. Of the third who are scientists - there are Mathematicians, Statisticians, Psychologists etc., with only a minor few who are actual medical professionals.
The relevant scientists would know and understand about the virus, yet the vote disapproved of ending the lockdown early! This indicates a Government bias, not one based on medical fact.
You claim that Johnson's cabinet is formed with sycophants and inadequates?? That is a very narrow minded view considering the present and previous leading Labour members.
Johnson is indeed a privileged person. For that reason he has no need to lie, he can, and does say what he thinks. Even when he is reading from script, he is easy to read. Rather refreshing compared to those two faced politicians who are fearful of telling the truth. Johnson is Johnson - it is those he answers to, where the doubt lies.

Yes, these are behaviourists who have been working with the government to build up the public trust. They feel their work has been completely trashed by Johnson.
Nobody mentioned virologists.
Now I KNOW you jump to conclusions without bothering to investigate anything.

Irrelevant, but do explain what you mean.

Are you quite insane? Do you know nothing whatsoever about Johnson? His career, his personal life? He's a proven pathological liar. A basic entitled sack of ****. He lied to the Queen, for goodness sake.
And here's me thinking Loco was the only @r$e-kissing lickspittle around here.

Does that sound realistic to you? Was Cummings father the only person in the UK not to have known the rules and advice given repeatedly in every media outlet for weeks on end? How would the media get hold of that information? There is no legal way that the media would have access to such personal information.

Statements made by Durham Police:
Reported on May 22: “On Tuesday, March 31, our officers were made aware of reports that an individual had travelled from London to Durham and was present at an address in the city.
“Officers made contact with the owners of that address who confirmed that the individual in question was present and was self-isolating in part of the house.
“In line with national policing guidance, officers explained to the family the guidelines around self-isolation and reiterated the appropriate advice around essential travel.”
Updated Statement May 23: "On Tuesday, March 31, our officers were made aware that Dominic Cummings had travelled from London to Durham and was present at an address in the city.
“At the request of Mr Cummings’ father, an officer made contact the following morning by telephone.
“During that conversation, Mr Cummings’ father confirmed that his son had travelled with his family from London to the North-East and was self-isolating in part of the property.
“Durham Constabulary deemed that no further action was required. However, the officer did provide advice in relation to security issues.”
Further statement May 23: "Visit to Durham by Dominic Cummings during lockdown"
Acting Durham Police, Crime and Victims’ Commissioner, Steve White said: “In relation to the incident where Dominic Cummings visited Durham during lockdown Durham Constabulary acted appropriately. Given the whole ethos of the guidance and regulations issued from the Government was to reduce the spread, regardless of reason, by travelling to County Durham when known to be infected was most unwise. To beat this crisis we need to be selfless as millions have been. The response by the people of County Durham and Darlington have been exemplary, which makes this most frustrating and concerning.”
“Incidents such as this do not help, and I can appreciate that the longer this goes on the harder it gets, but I encourage the people of County Durham and Darlington to keep up the outstanding effort seen so far by using common sense when following the guidance to stay alert and continue to social distance.”

There's always going to be comments about Cummings that are flavoured by Remainer fury against him. Furthermore, there is the underlying motivation to try to get Brexit undone, and to see Cummings undone with it. Add to this that Cummings doesn't cut a sympathetic presence.
Still, it's a sorry tale of hubris.

1&2 seem like reasonable and factual comments.
3 seems to be somewhat personal.
It clearly plays to my point that middle earth couldn't just leave his child with anyone and that explains the trip.
Put in middle earths place my child safe and secure with family a few hundred miles away for however long it takes.
Or worry about them locally when I thought my wife and I were coming down with a killer disease,
No contest, get the keys.

I think you've missed the point.
Cummings' father was not asking about the 'rules' that apply to the general population. He was asking about specific advice he had been given in the past because his son is a high-profile government official and possibly a target for terrorist attacks. This was dealt with by Special Branch.
The information didn't come from the media, it came from the police, as seivad's post shows.

No fan of Johnson as you know, but he was driven and escorted there, with no possible contact with the general public, plus of course he had been discharged from hospital AFTER suffering C-19.
He didn’t take it into his head to load his family into a car and drive 250 miles while showing symptoms of the virus, somewhat different.

In the same circumstances what would you have done ?
Taken your wife and child to a place of known, secure, long term safety or what exactly ?
I don't like the man but I would have done the same thing, which caring father wouldn't ?
I would have dropped my wife and children in John o groats if i thought it was the safest place, driving through the night and distancing myself if i had to stop.
