Women's World Cup .
Currently watching England playing Scotland and have to say the standard of play is superb . Commitment, control, tackling , organisation.
In a lot of respects they put the men to shame . England winning 1. O.

Yes, I've been watching the football (in spurts), too; plus, I've been willingly watching it, too! Actually choosing to watch the footy! .
The passages of play don't seem as frenetic as those in the men's game. I prefer that as I can see better what's happening. Easier to follow. Dare I say that the Scottish goalkeeper is petite for the position? Is she susceptible to being lobbed? Her male counterparts seem like giants in comparison.
Another goal!

Yes, all the players are very skillful.
Plus: a relief and pleasant surprise to see that the half-time pundits were all female.

I heard the commentator on the France v Korea match say 'diving' was unheard of in the women's game.

From what I've seen of the men's game, they all look like they're coached by Tom Daley! .

There does seem to be more mutual repsect between the teams. In the men's game they all seem to be snarling at each other, and turning their noses up at the opposition players as if there's a bad smell coming from them.

Yes, from what I saw, England deservedly edged the victory.

I watched England in the last World Cup. They were good then and the standard seems even higher now. Looking forward to our next match.
A lot more entertaining than the Champion's League final

I'm so pleased I found ways to dodge having to waste 2+ hours of my time having to appear vaguely interested in that match! .
Does the football season ever actually ever end? .
It feels all year round.
Handsomely recompensed, I'm sure - but the players must be constantly at the edge of exhaustion.

Not for long. After the Nations League and the women's World Cup, the pre-season tours start in the 2nd week of July.
I only really watch football and a bit of tennis, so I don't mind. But it does go on a bit.

Not for me thanks. I'm sure they give 100%, probably more than the English men's team do but the skill/technique is woeful. I remember the USA women's football team who are the number 1 ranked in the world playing a warm up game a couple of years ago against an under 15's Dallas Academy boys eleven and lost 5-2, just about sums it up skill wise. That said, its up to the individual whether they watch it or not although some might say its just another example of the BBC promoting PC.

There would likely be a difference in the levels of motivation.
The USA women's football team may have had a primary motivation of warming up, while avoiding any injuries.
The Dallas Academy lads might have given the contest the whole nine yards, viewing it as a once-in-a-lifetime event.
