Nick Hancock.
Well today he has either built his own gallows or is owed some serious apologies.
During an SNP time-wasting debate to censure the Prime Minister,
he said the Pub Landlord didn't get a contract off the Government and a Labour Peer did, in Parliament this afternoon.
If he has lied then throw him to the wolves but if not?

Yes, this thread title is quite the Freudian slip! 'Mistaking' a comedian for the ex Secretary of State for Health.

The contract was given to a different company called Alpha Industries which isn't owned by the pub landlord. But the contract stipulated that it then had to subcontract the manufacturing to the pub landlord's company called Hinpack.

For a start, he could apologise to his wife.
Martha Hancock's been suffering with long Covid -Covid that she reportedly caught from her husband- before then finding out -along with everyone else- from the national press that he'd been having an affair with one of his aides, who was also one of her Facebook friends.
I suppose he's another Tory MP who finds the effects of Covid to be a boring, unattractive thing.

Lest anyone thought I was referring to Shari Eftekhari...

I was going to title it Hancocks half hour as his name seems to elicit some strange responses.
We shall see if it's hanging him or apologise.

You intentionally named the thread after a comedian best known for presenting TV shows in the 90s and noughties?

I have found that using key names seems to colour replies and a mist descends.
That's why I started using the former President as it seemed to elicit a slightly less excitable or in his case orange response.
It was chosen without any further thought.

An obscure way of conceding you got Nick Hancock and Matt Hancock mixed up.
Nick could well have made a better Secretary of State for Health and Social Care than Matt did.

You intentionally named the thread "Nick Hancock" to highlight that he would have made a better Secretary of State for Health and Social Care than Matt Hancock did!

No, you have conflated your suggestion below and my answer to it to come to that conclusion;

Then...what was "the reason"?
