Rwanda For Refugees
Definitely a curved ball if it should actually happen.
To stem the flow of "boat" people it appears the idea is to send them straight there to be processed.
Will they send the people already here?
Stand by for some protests.
Well, plenty of huff and puff but despite the racist protests, not one person has gone and the vested interests who wish to preserve their "interests" have started their court actions without any evidence one way or the other.

I doubt very much they will be sending many as they also appear to have decided to build a big Asylum Reception Centre in N Yorkshire.
I expect the Lawyers are already rubbing their hands with glee.

A beacon of openness and generosity not to be abused
I just turned my phone on and saw this, then I saw it on sky news and I thought … what a brilliant idea I hope it happens it will go a long way to stopping people taking risks with themselves and their children's lives in those little boats crossing the Channel and making it a watery graveyard knowing they will be taken 6,000 miles away if/when caught, yea I am waiting for the snowflakes saying ooh you bad for thinking this way but they can get stuffed it’s about time positive action was taken, women and children will not be sent to Rwanda only boatloads of men who’s ideals may not be of good intent, some who pretend to be children and Boris Johnson’s speech today was honest common sense and just what the country needs. They should throw a party for this man . .

Can't see it happening but if it does then no delays, no appeals, straight to the airport and....Gone.

It breaks international law not that that would discourage the Tories and of course it's a vote winner with excuses for human beings such as Mick Gilly even if it doesn't happen, which is probably the idea.

Yea go tell it to the Liverpool taxi driver that blew up outside a hospital, no more hotel stays at your expense, they expect court battles and they are throwing 50 million at this and “ whatever it takes “. You have no idea of the loss of life in the channel, do you remember the body of a small boy that was washed up on the beach that was on the news and there will be many more that are not reported or even known about, it’s heartless not to stop this. I think it will happen and will serve as a deterrent if folk know that they will be deported to Rwanda and a captain of a boat will serve a life sentence in prison for people smuggling and putting them at risk. Snowflakes get stuffed this has the support of the many I am sure, it’s not only a vote winner it’s the correct approach that’s been needed for years.

No more hotel stays at our expense? Who do you think's paying for the flights to and accommodation in Rwanda?
Do you really think the organised crime gangs will stop their lucrative boat trips across the channel?

1. It won't stop them crossing. Funnily enough the people waiting to cross don't much watch our news. The people who bring them certainly aren't going to tell them.
2. It is only for less than 2% of them.
3. It is inhumane.
4. There is nothing to stop them leaving Rwanda and trying again. In fact Rwanda makes money of they do.
5. The poison dwarf flew to Rwanda in an airbus - the one we paid to have repainted- with about 6 others. Ludicrously expensive.
6. It's just a stunt to distract the gammons, who otherwise are beginning to realise what a shambles this lot are. Not all the gammons, of course....

I must admit I described it as a curved ball and the more you think about it,
the smugglers will be upset as people will not want to pay them to end up going straight to Rwanda.
The lawyers will not be able to milk the system here.
Rwanda will get a visitor boom from journalists looking for the worst place they can find.
I like I suspect many others are going to learn a lot about Rwanda over the coming weeks/months.
The Juries out for me.
The more Captain Hindsight the seditionist whines the better it will be, if he supports it then it will obviously not work.
The people wanting to cross are very tech and media savvy so expect a rush to get over quick.

As ever Johnson misleads in his speech about it and Farage pops up trying to find an angle to get back the stupid who listened to him before.
It is not a European treaty we will be in breach of it is the international convention on the treatment of refugees.
Under that convention anyone who presents themselves here is entitled to be considered for asylum. If they are rejected but don't leave THEN they are illegal immigrants.
Of all countries to send them to, Rwanda is a spectacularly bad choice. Israel had a scheme with them a few years ago which was scrapped when they found people were being murdered or trafficked. It is a regime which we have officially criticised for its abuse of human rights.

I don’t think there will be a rush to get here all of a sudden as this latest rule will be backdated to January and enforced immediately. I don’t think it’s a quick trick I think they mean to do something about this illegal immigration this time and I fully believe and support this, if they do appear here they will be processed in a third country. I think it’s less inhumane than many drowning and being taken advantage of, I do think organised gangs will be slowed down from running these boats and the cost of accommodation (and resettlement) in Rwanda will be less than it is here. I think Johnson’s speech tells it like it is. This will deter illegal immigration, organised crime, and save lives, say what you want but it’s happening and it’s about time.

It would be a lot less inhumane if they were allowed to travel here by legitimate means to apply for asylum and then processed promptly.

As was said earlier you could stop the boats by providing a coach or train to bring them over, having pre-qualified them.
A sensible plan which would cause a riot with much of the electorate.

I am disgusted by the missionary racists running Rwanda down before the scheme has even started.
The anti-black bias is very poorly disguised.
If and I accept it's a big if, they are staying in the places shown on the news reports it's a damn sight better than the Scarisbrick or Pontins.
Rwanda has some beautiful parts and lovely people.
Try and book a holiday there it isn't cheap.

A similar scheme was tried in Israel and failed due to home grown protests and legal challenge.
Most immigrants sent to Rwanda left to enter the EU Schengen zone.
