Post Office Chapel St closed because of Covid!
How long? And, of course there is no town centre alternative.

Why would anyone on here know how long.
Presume it will re-open when staff recover or no longer have to isolate.

Wow! Would you think that the closure of the town's main post office for 10 days - or whatever - is acceptable?

If the staff have to isolate for even a day or so, I would trust that other people would be brought to cover for them.

A lot of people have lost their local post office permanently. So being without one for a few days is hardly the end of the world.

In a pandemic it will have to be acceptable.
I seem to recall it was shut for months during lockdown as it was sited within a non-essential shop.
There's plenty other Post Offices in Southport.

The fact too that three closed on Lord Street over the years, including the main General Post Office, would indicate that the demand for the services have gradually declined.

Hey , someone has covid and it's necessary to close the post office, no there's no replacement
staff which is the norm. Who mentioned
10 days , it doesn't matter.
There are alternatives so stop your
Whinging and move on.

There was a time you could go to the Post Office, wait in the queue and watch large amounts of your money being handed over.
The recipient would then go outside and back to work in a waiting van.
Or drive off in their taxi.............
Thankfully on the rare occasion, I have need of a Post Office I don't see that anymore.

That used to annoy me too, although mostly because I had to queue (to do actual work) to watch a load of pensioners do ay time they wanted at a hole in the wall.

Which aspect of high powered accounting took you down the post office Albion?

Yes, in fact I'd call it irresponsible for them not to if it means putting the general public at risk..
In case you hadn't notice we are still in a pandemic.
