There you go, Pub! A good thing can't be done too often?

To err is human. I'm human, and I make mistakes (including speling/typing mistakes). And sometimes I don't notice them before I submit. But I try not to be lazy when it comes to punctuation, although I openly admit that I make mistakes. As to cheeky - having read many of your threads, which often seem more like fairy tales - I think you are probably the last person on this site who should dare to call others that.

I have a feeling that I have the majority (not to say the vast majority) of Q posters with me when I agree with you (just exceptionally) that audacious is a fair way to describe you and your antics.

Meanwhile:
Indignation and "outrage" at that Planning Application was a tempest in a teapot

Are you seriously claiming that council land was disposed of and private caravan parks and hotels were built on that land without the necessary permissions such as planning etc.?

See home page. Not much time to nip this in the bud.

If anyone want to pursue this and doesn't mind a bit of research then they could start with;
Case No: C1/2016/2662 Neutral Citation Number: [2017] EWCA Civ 1831
IN THE COURT OF APPEAL (CIVIL DIVISION)
ON APPEAL FROM THE HIGH COURT
QUEEN’S BENCH DIVISION (PLANNING COURT)
THE HON MR JUSTICE SUPPERSTONE
[2016] EWHC 1454 (Admin)
https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/...t-16112017.pdf
It then follows that the acts mentioned must be read in full .
After that the declaration of ownership attached to the planning application doesn't fulfil its function.

The Southport Flower Show Charity took over the park when they took over the Flower Show from the Council in the late 1980's.
The Victoria Park Management Company was set up in the mid 90s and is owned by the Flower Show Charity.
Because the Flower Show has to maintain the park as part of the lease, they must hold other events to cover these costs. The money from these events goes through the management company not the flower show charity.
Now these other events are not arranged by the flower show or the management company, but by third parties. For example the food festival and the musical fireworks are ran by the Council, they pay to rent the park off the management company, the caravan rallies are arranged by the local caravan clubs and so on.
The original lease only lets them close for a set number of days per year for these events, 80 days. These terms are from the original lease in the late 80s, arranged at a time when minimum wage was a lot lower, Health and Safety wasn't as strict and the condition of the park wasn't as good.
Since then the Flower Show/Management company have invested significant sums of money into the park and ultimately made it probably the best kept park in the town, and the reason why so many people want to visit it.
Unfortunately as the maintenance costs and number of days they must be closed for H&S reasons around the Flower show build up/break down go up, they have less days available to them to raise the money they need to keep the park in good condition.
I think that it is only fair that they are allowed extra days to cover the shortfalls. We wouldn't want to go over 30 years without a pay rise, and these extra days are what that is for the Flower Show.
All money that the flower show raises is reinvested into the show, and the same with the management company, they reinvest profits into the park.
We need to remember that even though the park belongs to the people, the town benefits from the events held on the park. Visitors stay in our guest houses, eat in our restaurants, shop in our shops etc. Whilst the usual park users might not be able to use it on those days, the town is still benefiting from it.
The alternative to them is likely to be that the park is returned to the Council to maintain, which would be catastrophic for the park as it would not be maintained even half as well as it is now. Local people would loose likely their jobs and the people who don't want the extra closure days would then be moaning that the park is poorly kept.
The positive to them getting the extra closure days is that it might bring in more events to the town and thus more money for our businesses.

'The Best Kept Park in the Town', come off it, it's a grass field with some paths. The original 80 days closure is more than generous.
