I hadn't intended to 'make light', idk how you arrive at that tbh. I was trying to say that native populations living eco-friendly jungle lifestyles were/are better for the planet, than 'westernised' populations. Because thanks to our interference in their countries, they now drive/aspire to drive cars and trucks, buy tv's, consume western products, generate plastic waste etc, and therefore emit CO2. Also, that if they had never seen a whiteman or been told that Europe existed, they wouldn't all be trying to get here now!

I know it will fall on deaf ears but your digging yourself a rather large hole (as usual)
Your clues the "whiteman" and Europe.
I suppose it could also be down to general ignorance of history as well.

For hundreds of thousands of years, they were happy enough, living in their traditional manner. Then 'Bwana' shows up with his missionaries and high-carbon western ways - and presto the whole thing goes downhill.....Now, when they're not trekking across the desert to reach the Mediterranean and set sail for Europe in unseaworthy boats, they're shooting each other with AK47's, etc.

So what made the whiteman go and seek uncharted territories that he'd never seen?

Just stop digging.
As a clue it wasn't just European "whitemen" that brought about technological advance

Whatever your thoughts on immigration and to my mind I know some cracking people who have come here relatively recently and we our lucky to have them,
boatloads of people with no identification arriving on our shores some picked up some not, presents a huge terrorism risk.
Just 500 out of the thousands could wreak havoc in our country for years.

On the news last night it said they were complaining about the food, well if they don't send advance numbers how do they expect the catering manager to get sufficient sent down from the Savoy.
Also France are now encouraging the migrants to get over here so sod Russia it's about time to put the French in their place.

FFS, what is wrong with you? Have you had a lobotomy which, apart from environmental issues, has wiped out every trace of knowledge. You appear to have lost the ability to discuss anything else.
It's very rare for me to swear on the forum, and what I am actually thinking is a lot worse than FFS, but you would try the patience of a saint. Did you skip history in school? Sickening.

What environmental knowledge?
I suppose you could mean how to f up the environment, he appears to know how to do that, even makes a living from doing it.

The above did cross my mind. 'Your warped version of environmental knowledge' would have been better.

Not only that, but his belief that, were it not for colonialism, natives would still be living their traditional hunter gatherer lifestyle, or as he puts it, an eco-friendly 'jungle' lifestyle (I wonder what they used for fuel?) It's patently ridiculous. The world has become a small place. Western influence would have infiltrated their societies a long time ago.

As a summary of the the horrors visited upon peoples by Western Colonialism that takes some beating!
(But congrats on shoehorning in something about motorists and truck drivers! A seamless segue!)
You often mention how well-travelled you are and that travel broadens the mind, yet the breadth of your understanding of world history seems to have shrunk to the size of a postage stamp.
As is the modern tradition, last month, October, was Black History Month. There's plenty of educational material accessible online; a good starting point...

I think that during his seafaring days, his trips must have been limited to the colonial masters, and not the colonies themselves.
Constantly referring to Africa and spear chucking jungle people is a little odd too. Do I take it that only African countries were colonised? Strange that, I could have sworn that I live in a former colony. Must rush now, I'm off for a trek through the jungle.
