How is your IQ
IQ tests are carried out all over the World. They check the intelligence level of people - the score you obtain depends on the test you are given.
That was not always the reason for IQ testing - it was carried out to find out how stupid you were. Those who rated below a certain score were sterilised. Shock! Horror! Where was this? What medieval period are we talking about?
Compulsory Sterilisation occurred for half of the last century in many countries of the World up until about 1965. Governments of the UK. France, Germany, Bangladesh, Puerto Rico, Israel, USA etc., passed legislation to allow this to be undertaken Often the process was carried out without the unfortunate's permission or in some cases, knowledge.
This did not happen just for those who did not reach a certain IQ level - blind and deaf people were also included as were those who exhibited unsocial traits such as various criminals.
The idea was an attempt to ensure that people could only reproduce normal children.
Could such an event happen in modern times?

Britain never legislated compulsory sterilisation, although it wasn't for lack of trying. One of the main proponents is now everyone's hero... Winston Churchill.
Read this and weep

Yes, it did in 2015

And this was advocated in 1985:
"During a House of Commons debate on abortion in 1985, an MP asserted that to abort a “handicapped” foetus could save the country £1 million over the course of a lifetime."

I've seen a few documentaries on eugenics in the past. It's chilling to envisage a society that evaluates people's worth on the basis of physical and mental perfection.
I"d also miss Said

Do you remember the brown haired singer in Abba? She was one of the thousands of Lebensborn children born in Norway.

I don't know, though:
“The unnatural and increasingly rapid growth of the Feeble-Minded and Insane classes, coupled as it is with a steady restriction among all the thrifty, energetic and superior stocks, constitutes a national and race danger which it is impossible to exaggerate.”
It'd have bred the aristocracy and most of the Royals out of existence. And most of the Bullingdon Club.
Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater...

Just had a quick Wiki. Stomach churning, but fascinating. Not entirely surprising with the Nazis and the experiments they did in the camps.
I'll read some more about this.
