Overgrown garden .Recommendations invited please.
We have a property for sale and the rear garden is now overgrown .Initially, the lawn needs cutting and borders weeding but would like it maintained regularly until sold.
It is a very basic garden with a medium size rectangular lawn.No hedges.
We have telephoned many locally advertised garden maintainance people but they have either never returned our calls or are too busy.
We would be grateful for any recommendations for a reliable person who would be interested in the job and able to start it soon.
13.45.Thank you for your helpful reply gsgsgs, and am still seeking further recommendations from forum members please.
Saturday 23 May.Thank you to all for your recommendations and advice. This forum is usually my first port of call for help and is always successful.

Just wondering - not speaking English on a day-to-day basis - but why have people started to misuse the word myself when the word (or letter if you prefer) I is correct and so much easier?
Myself use... is surely incorrect?
Age is simply a matter of mind - age doesn't matter if you don't mind

No idea, I didn't give it any thought?
"A couple of neighbours and I" is probably the correct way to have phrased me reply.

You could always do what a colleague of mine did. He'd been ill in hospital, came back to a front garden full of tall weeds. However,it had been dry for ages, so he decided to burn it off. Sprinkled petrol over the crisp weeds, then stood on his doorstep, lit a match and tossed into the garden.
There was a loud 'whump', a bright flash....and the weeds were still standing and he had singed eyebrows....and the neighbours came out to see what had happened.
So...don't do that!

Some people do the strangest things, reminds of the guy who had a wasp’s nest under the eaves of a thatched roof, decided to tackle the nest with a gas fired weed burner, that went well!!!!!

Overgrown garden. Recommendations requested.
Could I ask if anyone can recommend a gardener as per the initial request please?
I have only had one genuine response so far and would really appreciate your help.

If you were schizophrenic you could of course use whatever you like. I hope someone quotes me since you don't like me replying to your questions. But I only want to help you in your efforts to write English correctly.

I suppose you could also consider it as good exercise I have a very ill friend who sets herself a target of a square yard a day has done wonders and feels better mentally.

This is a good idea and good therapy, the key to a nice garden is do a little bit every day even if it’s pulling a few weeds out or brushing up the leaves or mowing the lawn. If you are ill time seems to move faster, little jobs take longer and it can take you all day and several attempts to do the most simplest of things.
