Lee Anderson
You have to wonder.
Someone who has moved parties three times...caught trying to con the cameras in 2019...no doubt very welcome to the execrable Richard Tice but really??
I suspect there's an ego in play here.

I don't expect that he is one of those almost extinct politicians who has principles and wishes to stick by them is he?

Yes, I suppose he could have issued some Conservative Party scripted apology and he would still be in the Party.
It appears he does have a backbone, which is rare these days.
He appears to think he is right and does have better connections than us, who knows perhaps the truth will out there are an awful lot of proven problems with the Mayor and his mates.
He needs to put up or shut up, he has the protection of the floor of the house to speak freely.

30p Lee was always going to jump ship. If 'Reform' doesn't work out (obviously it won't any more than UKIP did) he'll jump to another without a thought.
I'm not sure he has less principal than most MPs, he's probably just not as bright as most and sees the electorate as idiots. As illustrated by his 'pretend you don't know me' doorstep interview a few years back.
Like Galloway or Farage, the content of his headline grabbing quotes is irrelevant, the aim is to be in the headlines. He's a populist. I doubt he'll be elected again, whichever party he chooses. His gravy train has reached the terminus.
He'll have his GBeebies show to keep him in clover for a while.

I'd be surprised if there's another 12 months left in GB News

Yet GB News beats so many major players, perhaps a few will go.
https://order-order.com/2023/05/26/g...tches-talk-tv/
After being named the nation’s most loved news brand in a poll by Savanta, GB News has gone from strength to strength. Yesterday, the channel saw bumper ratings, beating out both Sky News and the BBC. It goes without saying, Talk TV wasn’t even in the running…

I think that depends on the situation in the country. It has a niche audience that appeals to a certain type. A bit like Anderson, while there is unrest it will thrive.
A protest station for those who wouldn't take to the streets. It airs views a lot of people think but wouldn't probably announce to the world.
Again, a TV version of UKIP or Reform. Not an entire world view, but it echoes those who are normally quite reasonable, but would also say 'Yes, but Farage was right about immigration'.
The 'it's political correctness gone mad' brigade.
Don't get me wrong, if those are people's views they have a right to air them. If GB News fails, another will pop up.

GB News gets the prize for at least allowing people from all sides of the spectrum to get a regular hearing.
It also has some absolute comedy gold particularly Rees Moggs debut something David Brent or Alan Partridge could not hope to emulate.
They beat the big broadcasters quite often perhaps the truth is no one is listening or watching any of them.

Allowing people from all sides to get a say....
If only I was in Southport, I would dig out the Private Eye item about just how little time is given to anything other than right-wing fantasy.

Unless of course you think there's some kind of double bluff going on, and by presenting us with Rees-Mogg and Anderson, GB News is inviting us in on the joke of them taking themselves seriously?
Before we go, let's remember poor Nadine Dorries. Dumped by her constituency ( who, to be fair, weren't sure who she was) , Talk TV folded despite her immense talents, her book about how Johnson was betrayed ( what next, a book about Pol Pot the family man?) was remaindered in record time ( how ironic is "Remaindered" there?) and denied the chance to do nothing in the Lords for ÂŁ300 a day...what does she do now?
My money is on her doing a tour of "An Evening With" shows, where she can rant and rave and we can all have a really good laugh. I would, genuinely, pay to see that. Pay close attention to the Little Theatre.

I don't bother with the crap but please have a look at what the regulator said.
Rees-Mogg "interviewing" government ministers, FFS.

So you don't watch it but know what's on it and how balanced it is
Perhaps you should hold your nose and find out for yourself.
You could also look into the regulator, that would be useful.
It's extroadinary how competent some of the presenters and contributors from all "sides" have become.
Sounds very much like those who condemn certain media outlets including newspapers without reading them but solely take the view of competitors.
I was taught from an early age to listen to the "opposition".
I often dip into the the Guardian and the Socialist Worker, you should try it and educate yourself, plenty of articles on Starmers lies for instance
South Wales Muslim centre calls out Starmer’s lies over visit

I've watched it but like 95% of those who do, switched away pretty quickly.
Not only is it not "News" it is presented with great ineptitude.
And whether the hosts of right-wing relics given day-after-day prime time positions have got better is irrelevant. They are simply processing
propaganda with people who hold similar views.
The viewing figures suggest that even most Tory sympathisers recognise it for what it is, you excepted of course. It's a toy for a very rich man but if it keeps losing money at the rate it is, he won't be that rich before long.

So one Tory pitching soft questions to another Tory in prime time ( or in GB News terms, maybe 20 people) is not impartial broadcasting?
Who would have guessed? Tho GBN has told us that free speech is being threatened. The free speech of someone who can afford to shovel in ÂŁ50m perhaps.
