After starting the season with only half a dozen players plus a raft of loanees and clawing back the 21 points they had been deducted plus climbing off the bottom of the table Wayne Rooney should be installed alongside Ferguson.
The biggest stumbling block is an owner with no idea about running a football club and leaving it to a a chairman who lives in a fluffy little make believe world of theatricals it will all come good in the end and be happy ever after. Getting an owner who can run a club and kicking Kenwrights backside out of the club will go a long way to sorting out the mess. His only role of any use is putting on the tears as another Everton Legend passes away.
The revolving door on the managers office needs replacing with a door with the words "Only come in here if you have pride in playing for Everton" The club is a basket case and needs a ruthless cull of all departments and a ruthless chairman plus a proper CEO who knows football inside out.
If they go chasing a previously failed manager who was sacked then a lot of supporters will be lost to the club. And definitely no ex Liverpool managers.

I'm not an Everton supporter so may have missed something here, but as far as I'm aware, Kenwright is still a director but not the owner and what points have Everton had deducted?

No-one present is likely to match up to Kendall - but for fan attraction a combination would be good. Ferguson is well liked for the caretaker manager, but why not use him with someone like Rooney, perhaps make up a panel management team with Baines as well.

Dyche has done well with limited resources.

I am a red but I wish Everton well. Sadly as far as I can see not a sentiment much returned.
Anyway I am sad to see things as they are, and that now there is a push to see Duncan Ferguson appointed, accompanied by comments about "passion" and "fight"...
Some thoughts about him....
He has been prepared to support the string of managers, including Bentitez. If he disagreed with them, why did he hang around?
Would that be for lack of alternatives? I can't imagine other clubs fighting for him as a coach. Because he embodies the "passion" and "fight" they are talking about which might have worked 20 years ago but will be an abject failure now.
In fact he is the embodiment of what is wrong at Everton, a failure to keep up with the times.

Kenwright only sold his shares to Moshiri on the understanding he continued as Chairman (as it is very clear Moshiri knows sweet FA about football) Moshiri is not even on the Board even though he has to rubber stamp their decisions. Kenwright has filled the place with ex players all the academy coaches and under 21's etc players who have won NOTHING except those old enough to have been around in 95.
That in itself shows the ambition to be a loser. Kenwright has just put one of his "idols" Graham Sharp on the board, filling the place with ex Everton players is not the answer coaches who have performed at the highest level and had some experience of being a WINNER would be useful. The 21 points reduction was the punishment for Derby going into administration and after having only 6 full time players in pre season Rooney has begged and borrowed players and has clawed back the lost points plus they are just short of climbing out of the relegation zone and with the 21 points would have been 7 points off a play off place.
As for the Liverpool relationship, I used to stand with Reds at Derby Matches and have some banter with them I have loads of friends and acquaintances who support Liverpool some go to Anfield but most I call glory hunters who latch on to the most successful team (pre EPL obviously). The turning point for most was the ban on ALL ENGLISH teams in Europe after the Heysel disaster and the successful Everton team of the 80's breaking up due to lack of European football which Liverpool fans delighted in reminding everyone hence the friction. The pity that being only hours from going under Liverpool managed to get bailed out perhaps it would have taught the Mighty supporters to be more humble instead of the snidey remarks about Everton at every opportunity. Now as far as I am concerned Liverpool FC mean nothing to me I was taken away from football by Thatcher 15% mortgage rates saw me deciding having a roof over my families heads was more beneficial than going spending ever increasing admission charges to watch football and I started going to Rugby League a far cheaper option with more excitement and after some barren times in the 80's/90's my chosen team are currently Top Dogs.
All though no longer a matchgoing Evertonian it is still in my blood and my allegiance will always be to them even though I despise the mercenary players who though willing to take a lottery win in wages every week seem reluctant to fight for their employer.

The most successful coaches are usually those who have won little in their playing career, few successful players make good coaches.
Bill Shankly
Joe Fagan
Ronnie Moran
Bob Paisley
Matt Busby
Wilf McGuiness
Eric Harrison
Jurgen Klopp
Arsene Wenger
George Graham
Joe Mercer
Totalled up the above probably have little more honours than the likes of Steven Gerrard alone but all were highly successful coaches / Managers, many successful players have failed dismally to move into management.
