On EVERY post I make it says: Location: Near Oslo, Norway. Sorry you don't take time to read properly before you come up with things like "very droll"! I was being polite in my reply to your question about Klepp and trying to help.

Code of Practice
A code of practice for BB posts seems in order.
A rating scale, perhaps:- exemplary
- reasonably polite
- fair, but brusque
- below the belt
- ad hominem
- very rude
- seriously upsetting
- downright crass
- vile
- totally unacceptable

Noooooooo, there is a much simpler and more effective option.
For interpersonal disputes, each party is suspended for 1 week, no right of appeal
3 suspensions in say 6 or 12 months for example - banned

Looks like the Government is starting on the banning of these cancer causing, lung destroying, tree burning disasters.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51581817
The ban will start with the bags of logs and coals you often see at petrol stations.
Perhaps Gutter Derek H might apologise ..........?

Why apologise? Stand up - and defend yourself. This is talking about coal and WET wood!

Have you not the backbone to apologise ?
Do you even know what wet wood is ?
Its often the stuff you see bagged in petrol stations and garden centres.
It doesn't mean it's dripping wet.
We aren't discussing a minor nuisance here wood burning stoves are huge polluters with small lung destroying PM2.5 particulates.
They have no control over their use or operation and many run on old polluted pallet wood and other scrap wood.

A) Not so, there are no proposals to 'ban' stoves or even open fires. As Derek H states, it applies specifically to coal and wet wood. The switch from coal to low-sulphur briquettes is welcome, as is ending the sale of wet wood in bags. Both produce large quantities of soot and/or tar, neither of which are good for chimneys - or the environment.
B) Tbh, I don't know of any local suppliers who sell wet wood - as few would buy it since dry wood is readily available. I'd be surprised if petrol stations sell many bags of fuel either, their prices are high and non-competitive.

…while local side-steps the gutter, this recurring line of invective does become wearing.

I have a great spine, thank you. I live in Norway, where burning wood is far more common than it is in the UK. I know very well what WET wood is, and I burn kiln-dried wood in my fireplace at home and in my stove in the cabin in the mountains (where we don't have electricity so this is the only form of heating we have). If people use "polluted wood" or other "scrap wood" (though much of this can surely be burned if it is dry and not polluted?) - the problem is not those who use kiln-dried wood, it's how to convince the others that they should stop what they are doing.

…man-up Derek H and admit that local has deftly skirted the gutter
[This is becoming as epic as the feud with The PNP!]

You mean repeating the truth,
they do cause cancer, they do destroy lungs and you have to destroy forests for the wood.
I note the British heart Foundation have welcomed this move as a START.
I much prefer to be on their side in the argument.
A joint study by Greenpeace and The Guardian last year revealed that nearly 50,000 children across England and Wales are exposed to dangerous levels of air pollution. The increased popularity of wood burners is making the problem worse – according to King’s College London, wood-burning in London accounts for up to 31% of the city’s particulate pollution – an increase of 10%.
The faux green proponents of these stoves are being exposed at last.

He hasn't it appears the moral compass,
its the usual when I ask for examples from those who have a different view and resort to frivolous accusations when they have no argument.
