Woohoo, our cycle lanes are coming yippee.!!!! Cant wait to use them and hear your whinging about them.....poor Micky.
:-)
If you look again at all my posts you can see although I don’t agree with them or want them I have said time and time again that they WILL happen, first of all moths or so ago I said it’s from the top and lately the small print dictates, so as much as nobody wants them they will go ahead. If in some cases they will amount to just paint on the road and make no difference as nobody will use them in other cases roads will be closed off causing motorists to expend more fuel going the long way around, it’s not poor Micky it’s poor funding choice . But it is what it is, you will miss most of it tho in France won’t you .

With the exception of a couple of bike-owning oddballs, everyone in Southport (and beyond) who uses a bike for everyday purposes wants them.

If you take away the ones that only use their bikes on a sunny day and wouldn’t dream of going shopping on them and only use them a couple of times a year anyway or the ones that ride on the pavement or the ones that will ride on the road anyway that’s about . Ohhh it adds up to …not many . Anyway it’s done now there it is like it or not, I’ll ponder the subject more as I whizz past you in the ice with my heaters on .

I may also 'ponder' whilst sailing gleefully past, as you sit trapped in a traffic queue going nowhere fast and burning money to run that engine.....I meanwhile will be all-aglow due the exercise I'm getting!

Use your mirror Mick, just like you would in any situation.
A cycle lane has priority over turning vehicles. its about time you read the Highway Code, specifically the section that relates to turning......Give way to cyclists and pedestrians approaching from either direction. GIVEWAY MICK.... No wonder we need separate infrastructure when there are people like you on the road who cant learn basic rules and follow them...... ffs.
