Both of us have really enjoyed watching the women play. I'm really looking forward to England/Norway tomorrow.
As I have said previously some of the "MEN" in the Premier League should be ashamed and made to watch players who aren't rolling around the floor at the slightest brush of the shorts.

You obviously do not watch much womens contact sport then? Try broadening your experience to include watching some womens Basketball, Rugby or Australian Rule Football. The spite, violence and play acting is there for all to see.

Yeah! Well - if the Women's football is of a much higher standard than the men's footie games, perhaps we should abandon the men's World Cup and have Sky and the other news sites feature just the Women's matches instead - surely they will not lose out in profits, will they?

I don't see how you have come to draw your conclusions.
A main theme of this thread has been the view that the football played in this Women's World Cup, aside from the antics of the Cameroon players, has made for a refreshing change.

Am worried for England's chances. There's reports of a virus in the camp. Add to this, the match is likely to be played in a heatwave.

I haven't heard about the virus, but I did hear about the heat. 38-40C, and probably with a humidex making it feel much hotter. That's going to be tough going. During our Summers we get humid 30+ days, it can sap the energy from you. I wouldn't want to be kicking a ball around. I hope they have AC in the camp.
At least the Norway players won't be used to heat like that either, so England won't be disadvantaged by playing a team from a hot country. Fingers Xd

LL might not but the 'sub-thread' is discussing football and the antics of the men when viewed against the generally sporting approach adopted by the women.

I'd say that since football is much more inclusive now, with girls playing in schools as much as boys, it would be a good idea to feature the women's game more on the main channels. Particularly now that the major PL clubs have women's teams.
I don't think we need to 'abandon' the men's WC. Why would they do that? The media show games from the lower leagues as well as the EPL, so they broadcast varying levels of the sport already. It is no longer a 'man's' game, although if you look at the history, there was a time when women's football was much more popular than men's. Apparently watching Lily Parr belting down the wing with a Woodbine in her mouth was a sight to behold.
Hoping Houghton and Bright are fit for tonight. Losing both first choice centre backs would be a blow.

The inference was clearly made that in women's sport, unfair antics are a rarity.......Wrong!

I have reviewed LL's post of the 19th and must therefore gracefully concede the point.

Indeed, I was replying to a post of seivad's (or should that be SEIVAD'S?), which she concluded with:
"I'm really looking forward to England/Norway tomorrow."
What was the point, again, that you were trying to make?
Although I think I know what it is, please spell it out for me .

And SEIVAD had already pointed out:
