Thank you, that does mean a lot, it really does, yes it was very upsetting, I know people are busy BUT I hoped maybe someone from the fire service would attend once in a while and help maintain it, ah well I lived in hope

The question about the whereabouts of the photo of the funeral cortege, could it be Duke St after traveling along Lord St or perhaps Aughton Rd passing close to his home.

Why shouldn't Maurice Evans be talked about on here? He has been for years as this is a Southport group & Maurice lived, worked and died tragically at work in Southport, he shouldn't be forgotten

Well it's that time of year again when we visit Maurice's grave and put grave pots on, Lisa also made a lovely wreath for Maurice too

I can only reiterate chrisheretic words.
"Your devotion to Maurice does you credit."
Orwell said "If there is hope, it lies in the proles." Whilst champagne socialists see diversity idealised at university, the common folk experience it first hand in their neighbour hoods.

Thank you, means a lot, I do wish the fire brigade would remember him too. Maurice's 60th anniversary was remembered thanks to Barrie Green who helped make it happen.
We do now have an amazing lady Sandra Bailey who goes and keeps it tidy for us, sadly the council are leaving the area to 'go back to nature' so Maurice's grave soon disappears under all the long grass and weeds, the area around the grave needs cutting but as non of us have a cordless strimmer we are stuck, may resort to weed killer yet!!
Anyway, thanks again for your kind words, really does mean a lot

December 2021
It's that time of year!
Massive THANK YOU to Tattyboo - Lisa for making and taking the wreath plus getting the plants for Maurice's grave. I haven't been very well and not been out for a while so wasn't able to go myself this year.
