Portrayed
The whole point of the advert is that they are gay and as you say that is unacceptable bringing Santa's sexuality into it but if I portrayed him/them as gay you think that’s unacceptable. You are just looking for something to argue about are you not
Your spelling of portrayed betrayed you .

Well if your kids turned out normal and you ever have any let them be children for as long as possible and don’t tell them about Santa’s new hobby or you will spoil it for them .

It's conceivable that Santa enjoys cock.
When Harry meets Santa
I hope he now starts shaving. Smooth Santa.
For representational balance, people may start campaigning for a bi Santa and an (unspecified number of) trans Santas, too. Arguably, it's an exclusionary form of transphobia for trans Santas to continue to be shunned.

What next Mary poppins is a transsexual, the fact is before this tonight we could have all lived the rest of our lives and it hasn’t until now and wouldn’t have even occurred to us that Santa could be gay or drive a shite Subaru not even in a joke.happy Christmas

Someone coming out as gay certainly isn't the big deal it once was. It's only really powerful and brave now to come out as trans. If Bruce Jenner had come out as gay that wouldn't have had a fraction of the coverage that the transition to Caitlyn Jenner has had.
A trans Mary Poppins having the Bank's children sharpen up their pronoun game would make for a twist. As would they reporting them to the police for misgender hate crimes.

I don’t care how many -spoons full of sugar - that medicine is not going to go down with me or mrs Santa, they should -feed the birds -with it or -go fly a kite- on a - jolly holiday - and if Santa is gay he can stay away from my -chim chim Cheree-.

I’m completely astounded that people so obviously full of ignorance and hatred like you still exist.
So you classify gay people as being abnormal?
Just wow, absolutely incredible.
The difference is this, if my children had turned out to be gay, they would still be loved, supported and made to feel welcome as valuable members of our family.
With you on the other hand, I shudder to think what your reaction would be if your son turned out to be gay. I imagine it would start off with a bit of gay conversion therapy before bringing round the local exorcist to rid him of any gay demons. You’re just like some sick, unfunny caricature of Alf Garnet.

Well the dumb bait has clearly worked
For all those fictional figures we can now have discussions on their sexuality over the Christmas dinner table.
I am going to have to mark the TV listings with sexuality assumptions it's a whole new game.
Then there's "identify as" a further complication.
It already has a name, trivial pursuit.

I love it-beautifully done.
I felt the love.
My only criticism is that Santa looks old enough to be his father.
that was a bit distracting on the love theme if I had watched it
without knowing the point.

I’m not offended or upset by the advert, but it is something we are seeing more and more of on TV.
probably best summed up by the phrase Minority influence
Minority influence, a form of social influence, takes place when a member of a minority group influences the majority to accept the minority's beliefs or behaviour. This occurs when a small group or an individual acts as an agent of social change by questioning established societal perceptions, and proposing alternative, original ideas which oppose the existing social norms.

What percentage of people are gay?
What percentage of Santas have you seen depicted as gay? I'm guessing one in your entire life. And you've seen how many Santas?
So for the hundreds of thousands of Santas you've seen, it isn't really proportionate, is it?
If the ONS declares that 94% of people identify as gay or bisexual, you should have seen a lot more gay Santas. Not really either representational or 'minority influence'.
