I suppose its too much to ask for him to call a by-election and see if his constituents who voted Tory now want the anti-democracy party.

They have also been paid salaries while they have been acting out the lie! All those who are seeking to block Boris Johnson are all Remain supporters with their own personal agendas for staying in the EU. This in conflict with the wishes of the electorate who pay them their salaries to represent the people - they are no different to Benefit frauds, obtaining money dishonestly! They should all be sacked! Guilty of treason!

    Utter rubbish!
The MPs who voted against the dictator Johnson have had the whip taken away from them, as they knew was likely to happen. You can't say it was in their own selfish interests to block no deal. It is in the interest of all of us that we are protected from a no deal exit and we should be grateful to those rebel MPs for putting country first!

If the remain dominated Parliament gets its way today we will be heading for a general election likely to be won by Boris with a small majority he has though cleared out some of the opposition to Brexit.

No deal will be put back on the table.

In the meantime the economy will drift and time that could have been spent ironing out trading issues will be lost.

Or sometime in our political la la Land do some people think the referendum result will be forgotten ?

Still the referendum result winners must be applauded for their patience whilst the losers go through their juvenile contortions because they lost the intellectual argument.

They have spat out their dummies, slammed the doors, wrecked the room and been rude to those they lost to,

isn't it time they stormed out and left the adults to get on with it ?

If your definition of adults means handing control to El Presidente Johnson and a coterie of hard right, then this must not happen, the guy doesn't work by concensus or agreement, he is an out right bully, believes in threats and lies as the way forward, when a PM turns on his own party it is a sorry state, sure I am a remainer under the present conditions, but there are many Brexiteers who want an orderly withdrawal, with time to bring in and adjust to the changes needed, they have no desire to follow Johnson and the no deal fanatics like lemmings in some death or glory leap into nothing.

It's great until you realise you're one of the minor characters that may get killed in the next car crash.

I see the adults as those who voted with their conscience last night, instead of the self-serving little pigs swilling at the trough of the Fat Controller. The contempt with which the ERG and their minions view Parliament and its processes was illustrated perfectly by Rees Mogg. That and the fact that the execrable Cummings is basically in control of our government is intolerable.

I never thought I'd have any respect at all for the likes of Hammond and Grieve, but that they were willing to be expelled from the party rather than see us suffer a no deal Brexit speaks volumes.

That the lemmings are happy to see the possibility of actual fatalities to the sick and poor, to see jobs lost, the pound crash and the country become a 3rd rate banana republic, as long as the billionaire tax cheats don't have to abide by the law is reprehensible.

You are the one in LaLa Land, Boris needs 2/3 majority to call an election which he is unlikely to achieve, he could try to introduce another bill but that would probably fail, it it the 'No Dealers' that are going through their Juvenile Contortions as demonstrated by JRM yesterday. Boris is the one spitting his dummy out and slamming the door.

To be fair, we should all be spitting our dummy out. What an absolute farce this has been from beginning to end. Completely ruined our reputation around the world.

The rebel Tories are all Remain supporters. It is disgusting that these MP's put their own personal interests before those of the electorate AND the other Conservative MP's. It is the electorate who pay their salaries - these rebels are no more than benefit fraudsters. They are supposed to represent the people not themselves! They are abusing their position in Westminster to further their own interests. They each knew what the Conservative stance was for Brexit. They could have left the Party long ago if they disagreed with the Conservative Agenda, and they could have left when Boris Johnson was elected into office - why didn't they? There are 650 Conservative MP's in Parliament - only a handful refused to support the leader who was voted in by their own Party. At least those who did not support the Labour leader - had the decency to leave the Party. I hope the creeps are thrown out!

For the umpteenth time, it's a Parliamentary democracy, not a direct democracy. The MPs, once elected, can choose to pursue whichever path they choose. If their constituents aren't happy, they shouldn't re-elect them.

There were 289 Tory MPs in the Commons, not 650. There are 21 less now, including the Father of the House, a loyal Tory for all his career. The actual Churchill's grandson (not the bizarre Churchillian impression that Johnson attempts), another loyal Tory throughout his life.

Our Parliament is not a dictatorship. We have a PM without a mandate, without a majority and without a shred of moral fibre. He certainly has no mandate for a no deal Brexit.

You wonder why these dedicated Tories turned their backs on this shambles of a PM and cabinet? If there has to be a Tory government, I'd at least prefer one with MPs that vote with their conscience, not to the diktats of an unelected sociopath pulling Johnson's strings.

Edited: apologies, 289 is the number they have now. Parliament.uk were quick at the update.

Ken Clark a benefit fraudster, behave he's one of the sane ones in the party!

Given the choice between Ken Clark, the gigantic fraud, fossil Mogg, pitbull Raab & Vulcan Redwood I know which I'd pick.
