Merseyside Police were contacted at just before 10.45am yesterday (Sunday) to reports of a road traffic collision between a cyclist and a taxi at the junction of Stanley Street and Gordon Street in Southport.
The male cyclist, who is in his 20s, was taken to hospital with a head injury.
The driver of the taxi, a Kia Ceed, stopped at the scene.
Enquiries into the collision are ongoing.

Oh no, not another knock-off......Here's hoping his injury is not severe and that he is able to make a full recovery.

I hope the cyclist makes a speedy recovery as well, but why do you assume that the taxi is at fault ? The report does not state how it happened an he could have run into the side of the taxi for all we know.

He wouldn't be the site Fool if he didn't come out with his usual diatribe. Stanley St & Gordon St junction doesn't exist there is a space called Seabank Rd between them.
And as both Stanley St & Gordon St are one way as bad as some of them are I do not think a Taxi driver would drive the wrong way down a one way street if that is part of the cause whereas many cyclists do not acknowledge one way streets as I found out twice last week one coming towards me on Wright St and one doing the same on Princes St. Just balancing up Noddy's one eyed view of every collision.

You've done it again dick brain. Where in that report is there any mention of the cyclist being knocked off? You are a vile, nasty lowlife who will readily apportion blame to the other party in any cycle related incident as an excuse to highlight your bigotry. IF, and it’s a big IF, there is any hatred towards cyclists, you are without doubt the main cause of it.

During WW2 allied leaders abandoned thoughts of “removing” Hitler as they came to realise that he did more harm to the Axis cause than they ever could
Perhaps we should reconsider our approach to PnP …

Difficult to sustain a head injury if he wasn't knocked off his bike.
Eye witness reports state the cyclist came out of Stanley St , collided with the taxi resulting in the taxi windscreen being smashed. I doubt they managed to do that whilst remaining on the bike.

Well at least he was riding the right way, the thing is that in Pnp's world the taxi driver would be jailed as every car v bike is ALWAYS the drivers fault in his fluffy cloud swallows tweeting in the space where a brain should be.

Saying that the cyclist was “knocked off”, blatantly infers that the car collided with the cyclist. Just like the cycling fascist that made the unsubstantiated comment, neither you or me knows exactly what happened. However, you have said that eye witness reports state that cyclist came out of Stanley Street. This would suggest that the cyclist has failed to give way to the taxi on the main Seabank Road, and has subsequently collided with the taxi.

Shouldn't our first concern be the cyclist and then wait to find out exactly what happened hoping they make a good recovery.
It may also be pertinent to consider the taxi driver who may be totally innocent and be suffering mentally from the incident.

Has anyone else noticed how the idiot is always up for an argument, even when he knows he’s talking nonsense, but when he gets brought to book for making totally inappropriate and downright vile comments, he goes very, very quiet.

Duh....Let's not forget there has been a vulnerable road-user sent to hospital with what could be a life-changing injury. In these circumstances, I consider it inappropriate to engage in a senseless argument about who said what, etc.

Yet here you are, making multiple argumentative comments when in fact the person you’re slating has only made one comment. It’s you who’s the dumb idiot on here, with nothing else to do. Go get a life. You might actually enjoy getting outside…

Or he comes back as another user /account and likes / dislikes posts supporting PNP ( himself ) if you look at lawed 143 s posts it’s all the same rhetoric as PNP as if it’s him … there are 178 REPLIES to posts ALL about promoting cycling , enforcing ticketing cars, hatred of motorists and distaste for Qlocal and ots reporters all going back to March 2016 there are no started threads or talk of anything else . If this is not obvious then ….

Yes you’re right, he only made one comment, immediately inferring that the taxi driver had knocked the cyclist off his bike, when he hadn’t got a clue of what had actually happened. Like I previously said, he’s a vile nasty lowlife, who gets his rocks off by accusing everyone who doesn’t use pedal power as being murderers.
