Sorry SF, but Maggie was probably the greatest PM after Winston Churchill himself. Just a shame that she isn’t still running the Country.

The only shame was the Falklands effect saved her neck when at the time she was on the way out, we still suffer from her malicious government, why do you think no-one wants or will put up any statue or memorial in her honour.
The only thing I will grant her is the current administration has created even more division than she did.

Johnson and his poison is what is shaming this country, his attempts to bully and browbeat parliament into abject submission smacks of an arrogant dictator.
When will he realise that he is not supreme commander, he may be able to bully some, but there are enough MPs who not back down to his childish tantrums.

"I must say, it is truly inspiring to watch the MPs in the UK ply their craft. Men and women of conscience and conviction who love their country so much they are willing to place their careers where their mouths are. We here in America are bereft of those kinds of leaders, much like we are bereft of those kinds of citizens.
Here in our country, 62MILLION of our brethren will countenance a lying racist misogynist demagogue as President as long as he hails from their tribe. Here in America, our Republican legislators will sell out to the Russians in exchange for an Aluminum factory in Kentucky, sweetheart "loans" to keep a failing business empire afloat, $60 million in "contributions" to the NRA and a boatload of well-placed social media ads to help them win an election."
I presume the Washington Post correspondant didn't watch last nights debacle on TV where the telling look of thunder from Black Rod (sara clark) to Bercow as he overstepped his position said everything.
The MP's ended the revelry celebrating and singing the red flag.
Stand the worm beside Labours Betty Boothroyd and he doesn't reach her knees she was far far better than him.

Takes some doing, that.
The crash was caused by American Banks lending, Gordon Brown was credited with stopping the spiral and saving the World Economy by bailing out the British Banks.

There's a lot of Remainer love and gratitude for Bercow. His own personal views on Brexit and those that voted for Brexit and why they voted for Brexit have long been on the record, as is the fact that he voted in the referendum, and what he voted for.
[There's a number of embedded video clips in the below link.]

Indeed, the Bercow household isn't renowned for its diversity of views:

If nothing else, he obviously loves the establishment that is the British Parliament.
Boris is the only one who could pull it off! Hunt could not have achieved what Boris Johnston has. The club picked the right guy there.

Just a note there! Bercow was not elected by the electorate! His position is supposed to be independent of any Party, or decision made by any party. He arrogantly took it on himself to interfere with, and indeed to take over Parliament, with issues that belong to he public. The difference between the Speaker in the House of Lords to that of Bercow is immense!

You're dead right in one comment, the Tories do regard the whole thing as a members club, news for you we are looking at the future of the country, not some bloody cosy Tory club.

I agree that America has only the semblance of democracy. They are, as usual, deluded by their own hype. But they are misreading the brexit situation. These noble Uk heroes have systematically done everything to block Brexit. How is that being the democratic defenders they would like to characterise themselves as? Hypocracy overload!
