You may not have noticed
Just thought I would tell you in case you were not aware. There appears to be high winds out there tonight and there is a red warning out on WIND in the North West and a yellow warning for SNOW. Come to think of it - it has turned a bit cooler lately.
The cladding on Flannels building has come loose and the road is closed. The skating Rink on the Promenade at Blackpool is closed down due to wind damage, trees are down and the Blackpool lights are damaged.

I would say that several of those are life threatening - therefore RED WARNING! But of course you only read the media and that is bound to be right - I must have made up the rest, don't you think?

Got to get my fat suit on and help Mr H replace a fence panel blown down in the garden.
We have snow on the hills looking down on us.

We'll have to go out and do a clean up operation. Not too much damage as far as I can see, but a fair few plants over, a set of ladders came loose and hit the greenhouse, incinerator lid is still dancing around the courtyard and a patch of artificial grass (I hate it but it's a paved area) looks like there's a elephant stuck underneath it. Quite surprised it isn't in Ormskirk, to be fair.
Still blowy out there, so I'm not bothering yet. We just had a waney lap gate and panel installed last month. I'm amazed it's sill in situ.
No slates off the roof either. We got off lightly.

We have a brook down a drop behind the back fence so the trees are quite magnificent as well as in need of watching as the branches needing a cull when they reach over our garden.
Still windy not as bad as in the night.

Snowing here on Georgian Bay too
I saw some footage of the devastation caused by your wind storm. What a mess it left. I heard that the winds were up to 90 mph, that's quite a blast. I hate wind with a passion. It can cause so much damage.
On the Great Lakes a gale at this time of the year is called a November Witch. We've had a couple of visits from the old hag, and lost 3 large trees. Two maples about 70' tall had the good grace to fall in the woodland part of our property, so all we had to do was get the trusty chainsaw out and cut the branches off. We've left the trunk on the ground to decompose as nature intended.
The other was a 90' hemlock which landed against 2 eastern white pines and was in danger of falling towards us. Too big and dangerous for us to tackle. As of yesterday we're $1,000 poorer from paying a professional to drop the tree. But at least we can sleep without worrying what will happen if another Witch visits us!

That is a Grimm story.
Very cold here that is the shock as last week was so mild.
No time for acclimatisation!
