Email received from a Qlocal reader regarding the Queens Road madness.
Some more ammunition for the petition concerning Queens Road madness four of the pictures are taken showing the view from Park Crescent looking towards the no entry signs most vehicles taking no notice at all.
The last picture shows Manchester road lights with the new sign and then the picture at the same time the filter sign in green pointing to Queens Road supposed to be a priority move been like that for a week now.

Think again fool what about ---- Ambulances, Fire Appliances, Police Cars, Refuse Wagons, Removal Vehicles, Builders Merchants Wagons, Milk Floats, Builders, Painters, Flaggers, Idiots fitting Wood burners + many more trades needing to get materials to houses ??
Oh by the way it's BUSES.
The only place that requires rising bollards is that hole you talk out of between your buttocks.

Buses or Busses?
A quick google on the internet would have shown your obnoxious self that either spelling is strictly correct, though the former spelling is rarely used.

It goes without saying (except to some!) that emergency services etc, would obviously have the same transponders fitted in their vehicles, to freely access bollarded-off zones - duh!

Evidently, a few motorists either do not see newly installed signage and /or see the signs but disregard them.
blah, blah …inconsiderate …blah, blah
Sadly, the provision of extra safety measures for cyclists are not great confidence boosters for timid cyclists. Those who disparage cyclists fearful of the road and preferring to share the pavements with pedestrians are pretty obtuse, if they cannot recognize the dangers.
Additional future measures will likely put further restrictions on motor vehicles and otherwise require different patterns of behaviour for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians, alike. In the meantime, it should be remembered that the Emergency Active Travel Routes causing such a fuss have been a short-term response by Westminster to events ("— dear boy") for which improvisation was necessary.

They're actually nothing new, having been in use elsewhere for many years. I.e. for changing traffic lights ahead to green, in advance of vehicle requiring priority.

Now, If all bikes were fitted with these transponders, cyclists wouldn't have to ride through traffic lights on red - as many regularly do.

I think you will find that is urban myth, regularly we see emergency vehicles approach red lights with caution and rely on others to clear the way when they see/hear lights and sirens.
Closing Queens Rd is utter lunacy, it is after all a main route into town, I’m sure the route will be overrun by cyclists, or probably not.

What's needed is to abandon this nonsensical scheme without delay!

Do you really think in the darkest of your smoke filled rooms that all vehicles with legitimate access to Queens Road should have a transponder, all of them ?
