Cop26
Just watching the evening news and listening to the idiot Biden telling us all how we need to reduce our carbon footprint. He was then seen leaving the Conference in an EIGHTY FIVE vehicle cavalcade. Oh, and that’s not to mention him arriving in Scotland in a huge Jumbo jet.
This news item was followed by Rottweiler Thunburg preaching her vitriol, before being driven off in a DIESEL powered minibus.
The World has gone mad.

Of course, if people had heeded the warnings 30 years ago, and acted wisely instead of denying what was happening - we wouldn't have needed Cop26 - duh!
Btw, I don't see you complaining about emissions from the huge Formula One 'circus', as it drives/ships/flies artics, cars, personnel around the globe to reach numerous race circuits!

Are your sure it was a diesel?
A fleet of 22 electric buses will be operating during the COP26, shuttling delegates between Glasgow city centre and the climate conference venue.

Well according to the reporter it was, she quoted, “Greta was then the driven away in a DIESEL minibus”.

What that has to do with COP26 I don’t really understand, but just for for your information, I have no interest whatsoever in Formula One, or, the circus that follows it.

Boris Johnson is flying back from the Cop26 climate conference on a private plane rather than the train after spending two days warning world leaders to reduce their emissions.

Most of us in the real world realise that Biden ain't going by bike or Bus and getting Putin and Xi Jinping there by any means would have been better.
However Greta gets there doesn't really matter as she is irrelevant.
All she does is blah blah blah, she exists as a figurehead for the pointless.

Unless the delegates live in the UK, or arrive here on sailing boats, then there's always going to be a trade off between their intentions and words, and actually practising what they preach. They had to arrive in jets. It would have been less ironic if the delegates from nearby countries had made the journey via greener modes of transport.
Apparently their were 100s of limos and Chelsea tractors idling around the conference centre while delegates were intoning grave warnings about the damage to our planet.
Sadly, we live in a world where our leaders are constantly under threat. Security is a problem. They can't arrive by hot air balloon. Though a few train journeys might have shown willing.
As for Thunberg, I really don't know why her existence triggers the over-40s males. While Biden is paying lip-service to climate change, or Johnson is wittering on about James Bond, younger generations are listening to her and supporting her ideas. They are the ones inheriting our mess. If she gets the point across, more power to her. Attenborough speaks - he's a wise old man. Thunberg speaks - a tsunami of Gammon rage ensues.
The extent to which Thunberg boils the p!$$ of middle aged British men is a wonder to behold. I'm not sure if they are climate change deniers, or just can't cope with a young woman speaking out, but if we could harness that heat and rage, we'd be net zero by 2025.

They didn't all have to arrive by jet.
They didn't all have to arrive mob handed.
They didn't all need to be driven around in fleets of Chelsea Tractors (though some could have been electric).
The Conference could have been held remotely.
The delegates could have shared some transport.
They needn't have turned up mob handed.
They could have used a fleet of smaller electric vehicles maybe even Tuk Tuks or Public Transport or even god forbid bikes!

Absolutely. They've hardly shown the world how it should be.
Let's face it, nothing happened after Paris, or at least nothing that has slowed our march to climate oblivion. I was going to say that holding the conference remotely wouldn't have the impact of this gathering of dignitaries, media and hangers on, but short of producing a lot of hot air, I'm not sure the gathering will have an impact anyway.
I suppose there is an outside chance it may put some pressure on those not attending, but when China is hugely reliant on coal and Russia makes a mint from gas, I don't see a lot changing there either.
Actions speak louder than words. We'll have to wait and see, I guess.

China is getting itself into a very strong position economically whilst we all pretend to be green.
By getting them to manufacture for us often in dreadful conditions we put our faux green blindfolds on.
The reality that they are digging up the coking coal to produce steel for us goes straight over people's heads.
Can we not do it better here at least it doesn't have to come thousands of miles and taking jobs.
Oil has around 6,000 uses other than petrol for our cars why is it better for the likes of Venezuela or Nigeria to produce it, does anyone think their standards are higher?
The biggest green con in recent times was the EU inspired wood pellet conversion of Drax power station millions of mature trees and their habitat destroyed and shipped thousands of miles to burn.
The far from perfect "clean coal" from under our feet would have been better, which shows how bad it is.
The Green con men are out and about taking your money.

Not to mention the Chancellors cut in UK airltravel taxes.....Taxes on flying within the UK should be increased, with the proceeds being used to subsidise and thus encourage rail travel!
