I have just watched him on a utube video in which he claims that Brexit is neither left or right, he is talking to two remainers. JC blusters through the footage, explaining a broad psychological description of voters and how you have two sides coming in at 45 degrees to one another. What a load of crap!

The currency issue was absolutely obvious - a second year secondary student would have said the same. With regard to his latest vision - it would depend on who is leading which party. As the public opinion rests at present, Labour do not have a hope in hell and because of their stance over Brexit, they are likely to lose quite a few constituencies if a general election was to be held in the near future. The Independence Party is likely to die out a slow death, too.

I know you have a predilection for quoting websites, but editing them to suit your own particular view on the world, but that isn't acceptable to the rest of us.

So do you have the link? And what makes you think that Brexit is a 'left or right' issue? Just on here you have members who are obviously right wing but don't want to leave, and left wingers who are happy to break with the EU. So how is it a left or right issue?

an eminent professor writing in the Telegraph reckons there will be little change other than the Tories losing a few more seats, I think he will be wrong and both major parties will take a beating in favour of the fringe parties. interestingly the article also quotes a recent MoS poll that puts Labour a full 5% ahead in the polls, it also shows a Bar Chart that shows that Remain has had a lead ever since the Referendum and it has now risen to 55 - 45%.

I tend to agree with you that fringe parties will enjoy large gains.

The Westminster bubble seems to be insulating Conservative MPs from the seismic destruction to the Tory brand that Theresa May, Phillip Hammond, Olly Robbins and other prominent Remainers are unleashing. (Though the disconnect between the leadership and the grassroots was established long before this.)

The majority of future vote splitting will highly likely favour Labour.

The Conservative vote also decreased by 8%. 31% of the vote in 2019 compared to 39% in 2017.

The turnout was dreadful at 37.1%, compared to 67.5% in 2017. The electorate is losing faith in both parties... can't think why!

Both the two major parties have trouble in their ranks, for instance I wouldn't trust the likes of Johnson, Gove, Grayling, Mogg etc, to take care of my cat, most certainly not the country and the people.

Statistics are a very malleable thing;

The result saw a swing from Labour to the Conservative of 2.4%.

Clearly Brexit is not being played out in the sticks with the odious Neil Hamilton probably losing UKIP a few votes but still only third.

The pro remain parties tanked.

Staying in and watching TV was clearly the winner.

If an election was to take place in the near future - both Labour and Conservative would lose hundreds of seats nationwide and people would be voting for Brexit parties or those having a Brexit majority of MP's. If there were no such party in the locality, then the least likely party would be voted for, as a protest against a self serving, dictatorial leadership.
