I meet a lot of new migrants to our Country.
They come for the health care and the education system for the children and freedom to practise their religion under the protection of the Law.
They are prepared to take any job however poorly paid and live in challenging accommodation for as long as it takes to improve circumstances.

Love your link, a publication for investors, the stock market, rabbits on about foreign investment coming in because in part due to the "flexibility" of the labour market, bet all those in the "gig" economy are chuffed that they are a part of the expected profits for investors.
I know the finance sector plays a big part in our economy (too big IMO) but this does not benefit the majority of people.

Why are they allowed in? all migrants including those from the EU are supposed to be at least self supporting.
Any religious pretext should be discounted, of whatever religion.

Au Contraire it benefits us all,
In 2017, the financial services sector contributed £119 billion to the UK economy if they dont earn it we can't tax it.

Fact is, it's not 'remoaners' who are bent on putting an end to their absolute right to live and work anywhere in Europe.....The blame for that one, lies firmly with the Brexit camp.

You are missing the point entirely the bright ones want access to the whole world to trade with not just the failing EU.
We cannot whilst held back by EU membership.
The absolute right to live and work anywhere in the EU is a two way street.

B) Yes, it is a two-way street. Obviously, you can't expect free access across Europe for UK'ers, without granting same to non-UK'ers. The idea is to allow workers from areas in EU with high unemployment, to take up jobs where there are staff shortages. Here in UK, we're always short of staff for our hotel and catering sectors - not to mention finding enough people willing to do farm work, etc.

You have though not taken into account the fact that the EU has a lot of poor countries where wages are low.
Flooding into the UK lowers UK workers wages and increases demand for housing schooling etc.
The worst effects are on workers we need bringing their much appreciated skills to the likes of the NHS.
Just like PNP towers where you want to know who is coming to stay so that you can cater for them the country needs to as well.
Another detrimental effect is highly skilled workers come here and work way below their skill levels to serve us coffee and make beds,
this doesn't help their countries.

A) The EU (like the other big economic areas: China and the USA) has wealthy and less wealthy regions. Which is why development grants etc are made to raise living standards and conditions in the less wealthy places....Poorer parts of the UK too, have received £billions over the years.
B) Disagree. Only 'illegals' will be on less than the minimum wage - They want kicking out! Agri-workers from EU are often put up in caravans directly on the farms. There are always flats and houses to rent elsewhere, so landlords in UK also benefit from renting to EU'ers.
C) More training for doctors and nurses would help. But making EU'ers inc those working in the NHS unwelcome, has the opposite effect.
D) There are also UK'ers with degrees, who work in cafes etc. Fact is, if you want a job, you have to take what's available. All these students with 'Arts' degs aren't much use to engineering, manufacturing, etc companies, who need Science, Maths and IT expertise.

EU = free movement of peoples no they do not have to be self supporting.
To benefit from free movement rights and have a right of residence in the UK for
longer than 3 months, an EEA national must show both of the following:
• evidence of identity and nationality of an EEA member state
• evidence they are exercising a free movement right in the UK
Dependants
Under the regulations, EEA nationals can be joined or accompanied by their direct
family members if the conditions of regulation 7 are met or extended family members
if the conditions of regulation 8 are met.

Do you actually read the links you post, sure there is free movement of EU nationals, however to gain permanent residence or access to UK benefits is somewhat different, short term, seasonal work etc does not count towards residency or benefits, self employed must be able to show viable income and have worked here for 3 years in order to claim residency or any benefits.
The exceptions in all cases are when a genuine worker is unable to work due to sickness or injury while living and working in the UK, even retirement no EU national can come here to retire on our pension scheme, sure they can retire here but will need to have viable means from either private sources or their home countries pensions.
Your enemy isn't free movement, it's the gangmaster system and dodgy agencies, who bring workers over to "work" on zero hour contracts, stuck in all manner of substandard accommodation, you only need to look at the "caravan parks" around many growers in this area.

The Arts degrees can be useful for some of our super succesful TV Film and Music industries which bring in a lot more to the countries coffers than many traditional industries.
We don't want to use our taxes to subsidise other countries we need to spend it here.
You must try to stop running down our country and wishing jobs away to transient visitors
Try and think of the young people coming through our education system before you give their future and jobs away.
Try and consider the young people who want a home and struggle, migrants don't bring homes with them its the same for hospital and school places.
Treasure them and the necessary migrants we do need.

Yes their activities are now being monitored a little closer, but certainly not closely enough, even so called construction companies are failing due to dodgy almost criminal financial dealings, Carrillion anyone?
We are becoming more aware of the underhand, illegal trading which has gone on, rate fixing, short term share dealing, the latter has now been clamped down on.
My problem with the stock/investment market is quite simple, in days gone by someone with a business project, a revolutionary idea would very often need financial assistance to move forward, with all the attendant problems of simply raising the money and giving security to investors, then someone came up with the idea of selling shares in a company, OK the company would need to be established, but this would provide funding without direct debt, the investor would have a stake in the company and prospered with the company.
Now however the shares themselves have become the commodity of trade, with investors more concerned with the profits from dealing in shares rather than the company behind the shares, we have all seen the rise and fall of share prices, the only concern is buying/selling at the right time, the company can go under as long as the dealers have harvested commission from the trade.

This is bad would agree with all of that, having said that looking like we are about to subsidise a Chinese consortium who are front runners to take over running the West Coast Main line from Virgin.
