I want the same choices the rest of the civilised world has.

Black Market dealing is illegal and tax avoidance.
Really easy to say. Not easy to do, though. Not practically. The entire shopping population of Southport descending on local farmers in November? December? How far do you have to walk to get to a farm shop? Public transport go out to the fields? Shops are quite handy for parents with kids. Disabled people. Should they not eat?
Going down a dangerous road there, H.
Shop in any big inner city? Don't know about you, but I'm not in a big inner city. And if I was, how do you think those imported goods got here? Might have 'New Zealand' or some such written on the packaging, but to get here they've gone through the EU, at least on paper.
As has been repeated over and over, particularly this week, the processes just aren't in place yet. No trade deals done, nor can any be done. Even after we go through official 'independence day' (whoop whoop), the paperwork is going to take a long time to sort. As has been stated, Brexit day is just the start.
So if you aren't advocating black market dealing, where are these entrepreneurs getting their non-black market produce from?

Not sure where I'm going to grow my food in a second floor flat though. A window box wouldn't keep me going very long.
There are plenty of flats with farms already!!!!

It's on the coast. Though no doubt someone will crack a tediously predictable joke about the beach being a field.

Not sure how a 40 mile round trip to the nearest big city for some grocery shopping would be a practical solution for families facing rising prices.

I think it is Lidl who stock local farm produce - you do not have to go very far. There is also a farm produce shop opposite Dobbies, a couple out along Southport Road, etc.,
