Sarah Everard's killer gets whole life sentence
While I am happy about the verdict, as far as I am concerned, every convicted murderer should receive a whole life sentence without any chance of parole. Anyone who deliberately takes another persons life should forfeit their own. I believe there is no 'accidental murder', only different degrees of manslaughter, so there should only be one sentence.

Horrific case.
A whole life term sentenced to die in prison was the only right decision on sentencing.
Sarah's family and friends have my utmost sympathy.
I do not know how they will cope or go on.
I hope her full name will live on in a memorial.

Agree absolutely.

He should have received a life sentence of just 5 minutes. Taken out of the Courtroom and shot in the b@ck yard.

While I don’t disagree with you, an ex copper can have a rough time in prison, having said that he will probably be put in “safe” position.

With a death sentence, the suffering is over far too quickly.
LET HIM ROT behind bars.
Orwell said "If there is hope, it lies in the proles." Whilst champagne socialists see diversity idealised at university, the common folk experience it first hand in their neighbour hoods.

Yes. And don't shield him from the rest of the prison population.

Beg to differ there - there does exist accidental murder. I could give an example -but best not because this happened locally on two separate occasions to my knowledge - so there must be many others. Then there are those who kill viciously but who are so experienced in court procedures, that they can circumvent the evidence to create reasonable doubt. Not as straightforward as it seems.

Accidentally murder someone?
That’s a new one. To be charged with murder the prosecution have to prove intent.
Do you mean manslaughter?

What is the point of a "whole life sentence" are we saying reform doesn't work?
If so we have just sentenced him to a slow death in Prison.
If you believe in letting the rest of the prison have access to him then you believe in capital punishment, why not say so.
I can't see the point in him or his life.
He has done great damage to so many and further made women feel even more unsafe.
Thankfully he is an exception and I do not believe the overwhelming majority of Police have anything but contempt for him and his actions.

Instead of dashing off some brief, vague, nonsense anecdotes, supply details of a case where someone was charged with or convicted of accidental murder.

So you believe in capital punishment but vicariously.
I follow your sentiment but wish people would be more open.

No hope of release.
No escape from the crimes he committed.

Prison sentence is also to protect the public.
His list of crimes carry a tariff.
Premeditated
Misuse of Police authority
Kidnap
Rape
Murder
Covering up crime
Blaming another person
Rather than society sentencing him to a slow death I see it as the perpetrator embarking on a slow suicide.
