Because there are different strains of the flu, and the Jab does not cover all of them. Just the most common they are expecting that year.

Can we all give it a break, This is about the flu jab, nothing else. Go have your childish arguments elsewhere. Like talking to a group of 6 year olds on this forum sometimes. Your all meant to be adults.

Crikey I appear to have missed quite a few threads - had wondered where Said had got to!
As for Seivad - we don't always agree on topics but. I always have the utmost respect for her. Very rarely have I seen her resort to name calling, even in disagreement she will explain her side and often take other people's opinions into account.
As an admin she has always been fair but when she posts in her own name then she is as entitled as anyone else to say what she thinks on a subject and to call others out on their behaviour esp if the behaviour is of concern.
I'm not sure what has been said but by the few posts on here it looks like there have been very disturbing posts dealt with accordingly.
Please keep up the good work Sev, Steve and all the admin team!

at the end of the day no matter how many needles they stick in you , you are still going to snuff it.
Pointless in my opinion. 42 years since i last had an injection and i vowed never again.

Stupid comments like that, Which have lead to the increase in mumps, measles and rubella.

As I said and I repeat, if for one moment you thought it was a real threat then call the Police.
If you thought there was a scintilla of a chance he would carry out his "threat" I must presume you called the Police.
The reality is he sits on the wrong side of the coterie so its open season on him and the usual suspects pile in like playground bullies.
I often disagree with his posts.
At no point have I defended the particular comment but the bias on here is what drives so much of the opprobrium.
I have asked for my "crimes" to be posted but note you have chosen not to, the answer is I suspect you can't find any.
People contacting you to say they don't like someone's post is hardly determinative of wrongdoing.
The worst offender on here for invective filled posts by a country mile isn't censured because she sits on your side of the fence.
She must drive traffic away in droves.
Finally if you thought for one moment the "threat" was real why repeat it ?

Sometimes we have these tests to determine our risks not only to ourselves but to our loved ones, family and the community we live and work with.
Unless you live on your own in a submarine you are being reckless.

That's not really the point though is it - If some things go unchallenged, they often set a tone for more of the same.
Admins pointing out things that cross the line has nothing to do with what friends/allies a poster has on this site, and more to do with what the site owners want (or don't want). I mean, lets face it, if it was all about the former you would have been gone a long time ago
Anyway, back on topic, I agree with Ceam (and incidentally your last post) - reckless is the right word for when people go against health advice , particularly with vaccinations and blood tests. I made sure my kids got their jab's and am grateful to my parents that they they did the same for me.

Honestly, I did not know that - despite your fondness of labeling me with various derogatory terms, I really do have better things to do with my time than keeping notes on things like that!
... although what did surprise me is that you say you have no idea why !
Was it not explained to you at the time (whenever and for whatever it was) or was it just vanity/arrogance preventing acceptance/acknowledgement of crossing whatever line it was?
Maybe one day there'll be a vaccine to help prevent that too? Trouble is, no one would think they'd need it.

Get over it, I've been banned in the past for nothing more than promoting free speech.
If you want full control set up your own forum.

OK! In general the media have to be overcautious in what they print because the penalties can be huge.
But in British Law - Free Speech is still the right of democracy. Written or Verbal. To be a crime, any statement must prove beyond doubt that the author INTENDS to do physical harm to the named person, or must show that he/she is acting to incite physical harm to that person.
In the British courts now, there have been several incidences of charges having to be overturned on this issue, which have been very costly to the tax payer, The courts are far more particular in accepting such cases.
On a previous occasion I was banned for publishing material that was already in the public domain and in which case could not be classed as offensive. It was a question relating to the Jewish Holocaust that a Jewish man had written to the Jewish Chronicle about. It was a letter that had been published in the Jewish Chronicle from a Jewish person in trying to establish details that he was often asked about but could not answer. No offence had been committed and indeed, if one Jewish man was posing the question, other Jewish people would be interested to know also.
I am a very broad minded person who is not easily offended. But when it comes to banning me for offences which do not exist while allowing other posters to offend at will, that is unfair. If I wanted to contribute to this modern PC way of thinking, which I don't - then I could also go on the offensive and call out many 'offended' posters for cyber bullying. This is an offence that many are totally unaware that they are committing, and which has led to several posters leaving the site. I could also complain about these 'easily offended' posters, using unnecessary and vile obscenities in their posts.
There is far too much misplaced indignation exhibited in these modern times which makes one wonder how on earth some people managed to get by for as long as they have. This site is fun and there are many humorous comments - life is fun - can't we all relax, ignore others little faults, and get on and enjoy life?
Even old grumpy enjoys himself - take a leaf out of his book! Then again, perhaps not!

Funny that! I said exactly the same thing. Then I was subjected to three blood tests a day for three weeks, with several drips attached via needles to my arm and other needles attached elsewhere! Just keep your fingers crossed very tightly!

The second links to a thread about Christmas trees. But I'll assume my comment was against some rapist who is making a woman's life even worse after the initial crime. Now, I know how much you hate women, especially women who you see as opinionated. But I see the problem here being with the abuser. I don't think rapists should be alive, never mind make their victims life even worse. You have a problem with that?
Your post specifically targeted Gina Miller.
"As for the pretentious non-citizen, non lawyer, non model, non innocent, interfering money grabbing busy body - she needs her mouth to be sewn up and then for her to be shot."
That isn't a colloquialism. A little local colour. If you'd have written that she should shut up and go away, that is a far different matter. Far different. That is free speech. " she needs her mouth to be sewn up and then for her to be shot." is hate speech. And is punishable by law. You were lucky not to be reported to the police.
Good to see the other misogynistic nut jobs out to defend you though.
You would make an argument out of a packet of crisps! According to you - saying someone should 'be killed' is not hate speech, but saying someone should 'be shot' is? I would enjoy arguing that in a Court of Law. Did you know that there have been a number of cases brought for what some people have thought were 'hate speech' - but in reality proved not to be. The cost to the tax payer has been enormous. Legal bodies are now reluctant to bring cases unless it can be proven without question that violence was intended or a cause to incite violence was meant.
If you are seriously offended then you have a right to report me, so go ahead if it bothers you, but you may be charged with wasting police time as a hypocrite.

The reason that you didn't know that Local had once been banned, is because he has never been banned. His account status was once changed to "moderate before posting" by another administrator. This meant that his posts had to be validated by someone before they appeared on the forum.

Local has asked me several times to produce the posts that caused this action to be taken. As it was about 3 years ago, I really don't have the time, or the inclination, to read through every post he's ever made. If he's that concerned, he should try and find out which administrator changed his account status, and why.
