Mark Field,attacks protester.
What are your thoughts on this?
I think good on him,she could have been carrying something lethal.
Also if the protester was a man,i bet a lot more would have stopped this.

In this new snowflake world he should have waited for someone to be attacked then wrung his hands.

He didn't attack her. He detained and removed her. Good on him I say.

How did the woman gain entry in the first place? Protesters are becoming a present day nuisance - most of them don't know what they are protesting about anyway. As for Mr. Field, he has a short temper like most of his country men.Security should have dealt with the incident - that is what they get paid for.

By all accounts Security was non existent they just walked in at will, he did what any man worth his salt would do and threw her out.
I suppose all these outraged by it leave a kettle coffee tea sugar and milk out at night in case they are burgled by someone gagging for a brew.

Personally I don't see why he should apologise. She shouldn't have been there and he didn't grab her by the throat as claimed!
The problem is the press and the system. The press claim he was overly rough with her but if she had pulled a firearm or acid and harmed people the press would have asked why she wasn't tackled. Then of course if it went to Court, instead of being thrown out he would have been prosecuted. It is a ridiculous state of affairs.
If some one is there to protest they must understand they will be ejected from wherever they intend to stage their protest. They aren't going to be asked nicely. They are going to be detained with force and dragged out without giving the protester chance to resist.
Now imagine if this was one of the ladies present at the Banquet who had grabbed the protester? I think the headlines would have been completely different.
End result Is more security in future at these sorts of events.
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms ... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants, they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

As has already been stated he detained the woman and removed her from the room , why has he been suspended, if the women had been armed he would have been hailed as a hero !! Crazy .
REST IN PEACE THE 96.

Clearly sexism is still alive and kicking and in la la land this protestor should have been let through and he should have smiled sweetly.
Just look at the people calling for his head and remember who they are if you have a chance to vote against them.
Labour MP Lisa Nandy branded the footage "horrifying" while fellow MP Tonia Antoniazzi added: "Mark Field should resign and be arrested.
Former Tory Sarah Wollaston said it was "absolutely shameful, a male MP marching a woman out of a room by her neck."
Labour's Shadow Women and Equalities minister Dawn Butler said: "This is horrific.
Lib Dem leadership candidate Sir Ed Davey said: "The evidence is all there in the video so the police must press charges for this assault."
and more;

Protesters are supposed to be a nuisance. That's the point.
most of them don't know what they are protesting about anyway.
Yes they do. Don't be silly.
As for Mr. Field, he has a short temper like most of his country men.
Not really a defence. So it's OK to assault a woman because you lose your temper? Most of the men in this country can't control their temper and will just lash out at a woman? Nice.

Wow. A psychologist would have a field day (no pun intended) with that statement.
Personally I think you know the risks when you protest. You're probably going to be dragged out of there. Everyone has a right to protest, but I'm not sure a private function is the place to do it.
What disturbs me more is that some of the comments sound as though certain people enjoyed seeing a woman treated like that. 'Sweetheart'.
Just wondering if he'd have reacted the same way if it had been a man.

I wondered about that too, and I think that the answer is no, he wouldn't have. It's far easier to be "heroic" when the threat is someone who is smaller and weaker than you. Had it been a burly man, I bet you that not a single guest would have approached him. They would have called security... the very people who should have barred the protesters from entering in the first place. Yes, Little Londoner, Mansion House did have security, and they allowed the women to walk right in.
I have to say that I found the video uncomfortable to watch. While I agree that a private function may not be an appropriate place to stage a protest, I thought that Field used excessive force.

Nobody has answered my question yet " do you people who found it distressing welcome burglars into your home". As WOMEN commit burglary too would you grab a woman burglar and throw them out or just have a nice chat and let her depart as a friend.
As for psychologists they must be overworked by attending people who get into an attack of the vapours over something as miniscule as Fields actions. When I was a child and you saw a Policeman you daren't give cheek or talk to them like the scum of today talk to the Police minicops you'd have got far worse than that woman got.
People are being stabbed on a daily basis our diminishing Police have enough to be going on with without pandering to Liberal do-gooders.

Would she still have been smaller and weaker if she’d been carrying a gun or a knife?
