If reports from the Petrol Retailers Association are True that demand is up 500% and 50-90% of members are out of fuel where is it?
Many people have a can for emergency use or to run the lawn mower or a generator but to store 'Tankfulls ' how do they do it?

It's reported that EU drivers are to be offered 5,000 temporary three-month visas to come work here. But who is going to chuck their regular job on the Continent, for a three-month temporary job driving on the 'wrong' side of the road in a foreign country?
Imo, there should be no limit to the number of visas issued. They should also be longer, e.g. for six months, with the option of renewing them on a rolling basis. That would be a much more attractive proposition, whilst still allowing the Govt to discontinue the scheme at a time when enough British drivers have been trained-up to take over.
I’m sure it won’t be long till all these European drivers come flooding back. What, with all that extra post-Brexit paperwork that will need filling in and look at just how well they were all treated last Christmas when many of them were stranded here.

Even in the runup to the referendum, the leave side whipped up so much anti-EU'er feeling, that our EU guests felt we were giving them the cold shoulder and didn't want them around.
Many left our prejudiced shores, wishing they had never bothered to come here. I'll be surprised if those same people come flocking back anytime soon....If it was me, I'd be thinking; stuff that for a lark, let them stew in their own stupid Brexit juice!

If you have 32M vehicles on the roads, plus hundreds of thousands of commercial trucks and vans, along with public services and road transport, then you quickly exhaust supplies already available when panic grips drivers.
Petrol station owners rely on a regular supply of fuel and the fact that people generally buy fuel only as necessary.

It's in the refinery's, there was a very small number of filling stations having to close due to driver shortage, this was reported in the media with the tagline "don't panic" which is exactly what people did.
This caused a huge number of filling stations running out meaning the refinery's now have to try to replenish these petrol stations.
The garage I work in was due a delivery today but after the chaos started on Friday we had it brought forward to Saturday, this arrived at 09:30am this would normally last a week, we were likely to have run out teatime yesterday! we won't know until today when we can arrange another delivery.

What I was asking was 'if demand is up 500% , where is it?'
I can understand people who don't normally fill up doing so and people who do fill up being forward a visit but all that surely cannot account for a 500% increase in demand even with the odd 5 litre can being thrown in.

Don't kid me you do it for charity as you can do that directly to the one of your choice.
It's the small wins, that encourage me to buy. E.g. my last ticket yielded a free go, whilst a couple of weeks previously I won £30. I do happen to approve of many of the schemes they fund. And if I ever do strike lucky with a big win, I'll get a great deal of pleasure from shopping for a luxury yacht to retire to in the Med.

Based on my experience since Friday, we've sold £50,000 which is roughly 2 weeks normally!

Good to read about the reality of the situation.
I suppose other media headlines like the one below haven't helped either:
