B) Not so....Only way I can retire to France now, would be by falsifying my accounts to make it appear I have an income way bigger than it actually is.
So you wanted to sponge off the French in your retirement, no surprise with that I suppose.
The French should be thanking us.

I had a plan to set up a part-time bike-hire business, not claim benefits. Even without doing that, I would still have had enough pension and savings to get by ok. Now though, without the possibility of buying a place legally, I would have to live permanently in a motorhome as an 'illegal' - and hope the authorities didn't catch up with me.

Orwell said "If there is hope, it lies in the proles." Whilst champagne socialists see diversity idealised at university, the common folk experience it first hand in their neighbour hoods.

It's also perfectly legal, requiring no subterfuge or stowing away in trucks, etc.

But you said you had no sympathy for economic migrants, despite having been one yourself.

I didn't migrate primarily for economic reasons, as there was plenty of work/money to be had within the UK. But even if I had, doing so is perfectly acceptable - and even encouraged - within the EU.
At end of day, allowing people to move about within EU borders, doesn't increase the overall population or put pressure on resources overall. Whereas, opening the floodgates to non-EU'ers and letting the entire world pour in, would be an unmitigated disaster!

So if the entire planet was a single market would economic migration be ok or not?

No it would not be ok, far from it....The population of the third world would empty overnight - and with those billions of new arrivals packing into UK/Europe, we'd end up standing on each others heads!

So "whiteman" immigration good "Black bad" any number of economic migrants in our case millions from the poorer parts of the EU forcing down wages and swamping services yet as soon as their position on the globe and more likely their colour changes its bad.
You are a classic EU racist you would fit in well in the superwhite EU non elected bureaucrat nests.

Wrong....Whilst we were still members of the EU, I had no objection to 'non-white' EU'ers moving around the EU (inc UK) to find a new job.
