Morrisons Supermarket are displaying weedkiller and pesticides next to Easter Eggs in their Southport store.
A concerned Mum contacted Qlocal saying she was worried that a small child attracted by the Easter Eggs would then try to grab the chemicals stored close by.
She said... "these chemicals should be out of reach of children and not in the same aisle as Easter Eggs. It's shocking."
When asked, a floor manager in the store said it was common practice across all Morrisons stores.

None story. The pesticides are clearly separated from the foodstuffs by a stack of plant pots. It is up to the parents to monitor their kids. "Shocking", not really.

The only issue worth highlighting here is the supervision of children, the standard of which which I observe to be generally shocking.
Watch your children - everything else is of secondary importance.
All those weedkiller or pesticide containers would take a child an absolute age to open never mind ingest.
In the same time period the child could be snatched or have run off into traffic.
My message to young parents is get off your bloody phones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The clue is in the name so start parenting and stop wafting around in the belief that responsibility is abdicated the moment you step foot over the threshold of a shop.

...and that's after they'd worked their way through the Easter eggs.

Presumably these 'parents' walk everywhere with their offspring. After all, you can't have the little cherubs within a few feet of a tank of fuel that could explode and incinerate everyone.

Its a shop not a creche.
The shocked parent perhaps needs some supervision.

That “AfterCut Lawn Thickener” makes a tasty breakfast cereal.... My hair is so thick and shiny, sadly it’s also gone a bit green, but on the bright side the grey has virtually all gone....😊.

When I worked in a pharmacy I had to ask a parent to keep hold of their child as the child was dragging stuff of the shelves. I got a mouthful of abuse when I pointed out that some of the stuff is toxic and was told that any such thing should be out of reach of children - in a pharmacy? In that case there would be no shelves out front and just a serving hatch! As others have said parents really should parent their own children and not rely on others to do it for them.

So this child that is to young to know the difference between Easter eggs and weed killer is going to do what with a box or tub while accompanied by their parents?
Maybe just teach your children not to touch things that don't belong to them?
On a side note, £10 doesn't sound a bad price for some lawn thickener :-P

It's a shop not a buffet.

The child better not take its stupid parent in B&Q or near a road, kitchen, bathroom beach etc etc as they are all places that supervision is needed and clearly they have decided that's someone elses job.
