It's done to generate sales, if people go into a shop planning to buy 2 tins of beans and they are limited to three they will probably buy all three, they will probably buy other things that are restricted as well.

Shame they didn't do it before the Great Loo Roll & Hand Gel Wars.

Good point! Morrisons are also rationing items. On the internet it is saying that those who panicked and bulk purchased items - may have blood on their hands in that they may have prevented elderly people or the infirm from getting food.

Shops are also unloading loads of out of date stuff, the missus went into Fylde Rd Pharmacy on Saturday, the item (medicine) was 3 months past It's use by date, she took it back and they refunded without even looking, they knew when they sold it!

It’s hardly rationing, more about stopping selfish morons from trying to starve the rest of us to death.

It will boost sales, when somebody wants 2 tins of beans & you tell them you can only have 3 they will buy 3 so as not to miss out.

I think, even though not all of us will admit to it, we've become pretty crafty when it comes to the self-service machines. I reckon that IF I have absolutely needed to, I could probably get away with four tins of beans means heinz.

I think it is pretty pointless the determined obsessive will rush round load it into the car and go back round.
I've just realised why everybody is buying toilet rolls, when all the stuff they've bought starts going off and they're still eating it and they can't get off the bog they are still well prepared!

That's a real shame! I worked there for a few years and the old management would never have done this. This not the first complaint I've heard this week re Fylde Rd pharmacy.
Contact @GPhC the regulatory body for pharmacies.
Stock rotation should ensure this doesn't happen.

The shelves in Morrisons are almost completely empty tonight. No milk, no ready meals, no bread and hardly any tins. There will be trouble if this keeps up

It's the same this morning. I don't think they've put any stock out at all.
There's one A4 notice in very small print at the entrance giving limits of certain items that customers can buy, but no notices on the shelves. However, this is pretty pointless because they don't have any of the items anyway!
