The worst activities to undertake are in Education and Shopping which account for over half of the cases analysed, whilst these are both necessary surely they should be looking to make these activities safer.
Shops have taken precautions though I often get the impression it is only paying lip service and is only a PR exercise at best. But it is time to crackdown and to implement strict regulations and cut numbers inside the shops, coming out of Lockdown on Dec 2nd is an ideal opportunity to start afresh. When the first lockdown occurred we saw queues around the carparks and whilst that is probably not desirable in winter at least it would encourage people to shop 'Offpeak' and make full use of the spread of hours across the week in the shops.
Similarly in schools and Colleges to break the cycle should not the student numbers be cut by doing a mixture of schooling in school with an extended spread of hours to cut down numbers on site together with a mixture of more homework and online teaching.
Implementing these sort of measures should lessen infections and other less dangerous activities should be resumed (at least a bloke playing golf isn't being dragged around shops) and restricted hospitality could be reopened.

Gyms and pubs should be re-opened and traffic should be restricted as much as possible. That way I can do what I want to do and get around a lot easier. It has been rather wet on my runs, better in the dry.

I'm still avoiding going out whenever possible, but if I have to go to the shops, I tend to go later in the day. There aren't usually any queues late afternoon, thankfully. Still, other shoppers don't seem fussed about getting close to others. This second lockdown barely seems to have registered with some.
Saw on the news this morning that the leaders of the 4 nations are talking about a few days of lifting restrictions for Christmas. Despite scientists seeming to agree this isn't a bright move. I'd rather the family get together and celebrate Christmas in March or April safely, than gather in a few weeks with the virus still circulating. I doubt the 'Rona will take a break for turkey and the trimmings. Madness.
I know a family gathering will help a lot of people with their mental health, but not if there is another gathering in January or February for a funeral.

The problem is the thicker natives are getting restless, the sensible will carry on with common-sense restrictions to their lives with or without government intervention until this is over.
Giving no relief at Christmas means some families will break the rules come what may.
Just as before the pandemic got hold people should have been making sensible choices not relying on a conflicted government.
There is no one size fits all answer.

Latest analysis of deaths released by the Government (why only to 30th June and not end Sept or October?) reinforces the views of the young and the deniers, out of around 50k deaths 40% occurred in Care Homes and a further 40% in the over 75's, less than 10% in the under 65's many of whom would have underlying conditions.
If anybody argued to open everything up and confine OAP's to barracks it would be difficult to counter.

The average life expectancy in the UK is about 7 months less than the average age of people who died WITH covid. You could argue get covid live longer. Do we know how many died OF covid ? Many probably died WITH spots on their noses. Died WITH is meaningless.

That's why we have the excess death figures.
Why we have such a high death rate is probably down to our unfit and overweight nation the figures show how complicated the picture is.
We constantly hear about how the guvvernment should have done this or that quicker or got more PPE but the figures undermine these arguments.

Bingo! Gold Star for Observation! It IS half hearted. Protest marches have been taking place in almost every town in the UK - and the numbers are growing. Considering that those people in those marches have been subjected to the same information, directions and warnings that you have - and would know that they are as vulnerable as you are, and yet are ignoring it all - why do you think that would be?
These restrictions will be finished soon, unfortunately. For if they do continue, people are going to get violent. I say unfortunately because it has been wonderful to go around freely, with less traffic on the roads, etc.,It has been bliss. The next virus season is due to start soon, too.
By the way - anyone want any face masks - I have got some packs of the things and a small hand sanitiser - never used and all free. If you are local, I can leave them in A place near you to be collected, if you want?

Like Smoking nobody dies OF it, they die of the complications it causes..
The reason that the victims average life expectancy is above the historic average is because the virus hits the elderly hardest.

An article in the Independent correlated some useful information about obesity and Covid deaths.
The figures are stark and hopefully, our overweight PM will stick to his and the country's diet we need it;
Are global coronavirus death rates linked to a country's obesity levels?

I don't know if you've ever seen a death certificate. The cause of death is always the final condition that caused the death. The other conditions which led to the actual cause of death are listed in sequential order.
Say someone contracted Covid, which led to them contracting pneumonia which then caused them to die from acute respiratory distress syndrome. Acute respiratory distress syndrome would be listed as the cause of death. They died with Covid, not from it. However if they hadn't contracted Covid, they wouldn't have contracted the other two conditions that eventually led to their death.

Too many seem to confuse cause and effect, a victim of violent, armed attack will quite likely die from blood loss, organ failure or resulting after effects, but the cause will be the knife, bullet or blunt instrument,

Because they are selfish, brainless morons showing scant regard for anyone's health including their own friends & family.

I guess thy each have families just like everyone else, they have a brain to think with, and feel just the same as you - so that can't be the reason for the protests. Think again.

Remember the common cry after the marches and the rally's proved successful - the protesters claimed "They never told us, we didn't know"?

Those figures show that 62016 people died due to C19. The official number claimed to have died in the UK is 55838 - did they hide some? Normal deaths average about 11000 per week, to date this year, this is 517000 deaths. Yet the official figures claim that only 0.03% of the population have been affected. Interesting?
