True.....But being able to look forwards to one day a week without that constant nuisance, would be welcomed by them.

I’ve stopped having any conversation with him, he’s as thick as pig s**t, and he gets his rocks off by other posters deriding and insulting him.

Well for one thing we know he didn't ride from here to either place, in the past he told us they put the bikes on one of their gas guzzlers and drove to park up and ride in the Pendle area.
So in his mind it's ok for fair weather short distance cyclists to drive there unload their bikes and ride around. But anyone who goes by car is a heinous crime. HYPOCRITE of the highest order = Pnp.

Nah....I'm saying if the train isn't practical, then drive up the M6, parking at an approved car-free location.
As it happens, last time I went, that's effectively what I did. I left the M6 at Junct 36, following the A590 for a few miles. Then found a spot to park and got the bike out. Rode a series of back lanes to Lakeside, followed W side of Windermere, catching ferry across lake to Bowness. Then used more back lanes from there, to return to parking spot on A590. Drove back on A6, to avoid M6.

Is it just me or is everyone confused? How, I wonder does one park in a car free location?

Masochistic? Servicing an unmet need?

I should have said; park at an approved car-free day location....If cars are to be outlawed on car-free days, then there will have to be suitable car-parks provided on the periphery of the car-free zones. These would presumably be pay & display, in order to recover the cost of providing the new car-parks. Price could perhaps include cost of riding the associated shuttle-busses, which may be provided to ferry visitors around the area.

Presumably it's never struck you just how big such car parks would need to be nor, as I've pointed out before, the damage to such area's tourism and business communities?
Thought not.

Not to mention the trees they'd probably have to fell, to create space for these huge car parks. Which would simply add to the environmental damage already caused by his wood fire. q

Can't see that happening tbh, as there are plenty of fields dotted about, that are flat enough to become car-parks. Large areas alongside the A590 are flat for a start. It would be a plan to plant trees around them though, to provide visual screening and wind protection.

Of course! And who is paying for all these car parks?
