General Election Outcome
If as I suspect we are heading towards an imminent General Election what would the outcome here
https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/ge...iament-brexit/
an eminent professor writing in the Telegraph reckons there will be little change other than the Tories losing a few more seats, I think he will be wrong and both major parties will take a beating in favour of the fringe parties. interestingly the article also quotes a recent MoS poll that puts Labour a full 5% ahead in the polls, it also shows a Bar Chart that shows that Remain has had a lead ever since the Referendum and it has now risen to 55 - 45%.

Puts a different slant on the constant cry from leavers about the "massive" majority for Brexit.

I believe Labour has a good chance of a majority if they dump Corbyn, he is fundamentally dishonest.
The last election I believe was not about Brexit, people thought the decision was done and dusted but Corbyn, Abbott etc held them back.
Without Corbyn I believe they would have had a majority, people who are entirely innocent are paying the bankers gambling debts (still)
If they keep Corbyn and Mrs May doesn't stand then its the Tories to lose if they choose a leader with broad appeal to people who are likely to vote Tory.
There is no point putting up a weak candidate to appease people who won't vote for them anyway.
The only party promising to take us back in the Liberal Democrats lost by a country mile clearly showing the Brexit majority.

I agree that Corbyn is Labour's weakest link.
He's a sniper from behind the barricades, not a leader imho.

As bad as the Tories are, and without doubt, the worst Government we’ve had in decades, the thought of Britain being run by a Labour Party with Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott on the front bench, must fill anyone with more than one brain cell, with utter dread. I don’t profess to know the answers, but U.K. politics is in dire need of a complete overhaul, this lot ( Tories and Labour), have made us the laughing stock of the whole world.

.
I don't disagree that Corbyn is unelectable. I disagree vehemently that he is dishonest. In many ways his honesty and lack of pragmatism make him unelectable.

I have to disagree with that too, local. I see from your posts you think he should be taking Labour down the 'Leave' path, but that isn't what the majority of the membership wants. Even his enforcement squad, Momentum, is basically made up of younger people (though not exclusively). And we know how they voted. As I said on another post, they'll back Corbyn while he's listening to the majority.
For me, the main problem with JC is that he's an idealist rather than a statesman. I do believe his ideas are good 'for the many', but he sticks to his personal political code. If you hear him talk at a rally, his passion is evident, but facing the opposite bench in Parliament, he just sticks to the script. Doesn't ad-lib, doesn't take the opportunity to slaughter the opposition as he so easily should have over the past few years.
I do admire his principals, but in a general election, I'd rather others in the party were taking on whichever Brexiteer the ERG are going to approve. He'll get my vote, as my second choice party hasn't got a dog's. But I don't have confidence in his chances.

True! Though Corbyn continues to criticise the EU.

Link?
He was right on the single currency. We didn't want the Euro, and we didn't have the Euro. Should we have joined the single currency? We'd be in an even bigger mess now.
And Brexit isn't 'left or right'. There are red and blue in both camps.
Do try and make some semblance of sense. His voting is a matter of public record, along with every other MP. How is what he says a surprise to you or anyone?

Lazy SOB, you can use a computer so look up Utube by entering his name.
The currency issue was absolutely obvious - a second year secondary student would have said the same. With regard to his latest vision - it would depend on who is leading which party. As the public opinion rests at present, Labour do not have a hope in hell and because of their stance over Brexit, they are likely to lose quite a few constituencies if a general election was to be held in the near future. The Independence Party is likely to die out a slow death, too.
