Lay your bets
Who do you think will win in the French elections?

If I were to have a punt on the French election I would place my bets rather than lay them. I'm not a bookmaker.

Macron yuk,
The sight of him creeping round the odious Putin who showed his disdain for him by seating him at the end of a very long table just about sums him up.
Ms Pen blimey not much of a choice, £10 on le Pen for amusement only.

I suspect the French are more shrewd than the British.
I don't think they'll go for the populist hard right-wing Le Pen, especially having seen how things are turning out over here when you tread that path.
Of course, this is only the Presidential election, so the effects are not exactly comparable, but that's my fallible take.

I was in France just after the last election when Macron got voted in. The French people we met all agreed that the election was fixed as none had heard of Macron. They each said that Le Pen was far more popular than he was and she should have got in. Macron was Merkell's puppet! Supposedly, it is claimed she even funded his campaign.

Macron is screaming from the rooftops thatit is Le Pen who is in bed with Putin. But then he is a liar and a weirdo, and as been right from the start of his office. Ask the French people.

"Two questions continue to haunt the establishment. How did a young unknown rise to such dizzying proximity to the president? And why was he apparently protected?"In the UK, the affair would have led by now to the resignation of the home secretary," says Prof De Voogd says. "In France - nothing."
He says French voters are left to conclude that there is one rule for the people at the top - and another for the rest.
Ask any random group of voters what adjective they would use to describe their head of state, and odds are they will use the word "arrogant".
Time and again, President Macron has been caught on camera saying things about his fellow citizens that are construed as insensitive and insulting.
The most recent occasion was at an open day at the Élysée, when he told an unemployed gardener - who'd complained about not finding work - to try another line of business, like serving tables." BBC

Ha ha yes I suppose if voting was fair and it actually changed anything democratically they would make it illegal

If voting was truly fair (in the UK) our parliament would be a true reflection of the way the population as a whole had voted....E.g. if each of the three main parties had received a third of the vote, then each party would have a third of the seats in the House!
