The Mini-Police were out in Southport earlier this week, on a mission to educate drivers to stay within speed limits.
Children from Year 5 at Norwood Primary were our Mini-Police Officers this week, supervised by staff from the school and Police Community Support Officers (PCSO's) from Southport Local Policing Team. The children were shown how one of the laser speed detection devices that we use works and all had a go at using it on traffic on Roe Lane and Norwood Avenue.
If any drivers had been travelling at excess speed, they would have been given the option of being spoken to by the Mini-Police. As it happened, the presence of all those yellow jackets in one place did the job of encouraging drivers to slow down. So no one needed to be spoken to on the day.

So basically, a non story about drivers obeying the law and keeping to the speed limit, which kind of contradicts PNP’s constant claims that the VAST MAJORITY of drivers totally ignore speed limits, driving at what speed they like.

Where’s your evidence of drivers behaving? Where I live, and when I’m driving, the vast majority of drivers ARE speeding. But you crack on with your assumptions….

The evidence is in the story, if you’d bothered to digest it. No one was speeding and the ‘mini Police’ didn’t have to speak to any driver.
As for your claim that the vast majority of drivers are speeding, it’s strange how it’s always you and the other motorist hater PNP who manage to see so many offenders.

Duh! Well, you wouldn't expect members of the miscreant motoring fraternity, to drop their fellow speedsters in it now would you?

I'm surprised he wasn't sat on a roof watching where cars go, it is in his usual dogging area.

Depends how you define 'speeding' ?
You only need to drive down Heathfield Rd, which has a 20mph limit, and 'most' will exceed that, even busses!
IF you drive it at 20mph, except a convoy behind you :-)
