I am not nearly as qualified as you clearly but surely you don't think he would have died with the common cold ?
And a tad more technical question for you but how exactly do you build up immunity for a mutating virus.
I thought vaccines provided good protection against particular strains of virus but fail to protect against new or mutated strains.
Isn't this reason the flu vaccine has to be updated and given every year,
just asking.
Thanks for inducing a nose snort

Hopefully. I don't know enough about viruses and epidemiology to make any guesses, but I'm crossing my fingers that, since the virus is so widespread, it doesn't mutate somewhere. Different rates, different mutations.
I suppose there is always the option, like SARS, that it just burns out naturally.

Track and trace from Monday.
I was quite optimistic until going out shopping today now I feel doomed to
be a target of one of MH's whole town lockdown threats.

I think a few weeks ago the Chinese said they had detected 34 mutations.

'Oxford University Vaccine Trials Run Into Hurdle
The Oxford University team in charge of developing a coronavirus vaccine said a decline in the infection rate will make it increasingly difficult to prove whether ...(the vaccine works or not)'
With millions given by the British government to develop this, and more than a billion put in by the Americans, I really think these boffins should try harder!
You really think that the boffins are "not trying hard enough".

They are starting to get a bit more creative now:
'AstraZeneca says it may consider exposing vaccine trial participants to virus.
So-called human challenge trials have been discussed as an alternative option by scientists, whereby vaccinated volunteers are infected intentionally.'
(Reuters)
Keep up the good work, boffins (and drug company).

I would imagine that the trials infecting people will be carried out in a Third World Country to help them out of the epidemic, this also has the added bonus of avoiding any possible legal cases if anything goes wrong.

If this virus is not defeated and the world doesn't get back to work, millions more of Third World residents will starve.
But as far as I know the 'volunteers' haven't been selected yet.
Is there any truth in the rumour that Trump has already rolled up his sleeve?

I'm crossing my fingers that if somebody does come up with a vaccine, it will be made public property, and not for some huge pharmaceutical corporation to make a fat profit.
Oh, there will be a second wave of an outbreak. It will occur around the end of November/December and will last through until March!
It is a bit useless trying to find a vaccine for this year's outbreak - because the next virus will be different and any vaccine discovered now, will be useless for the next virus.

They have been doing human trials since February. They purposefully infected those who were susceptible to the virus, not everyone was, and then treated people with various drugs already on the market with mixed success.
I am not having any vaccinations - I remember reading up on Polio and MMR. There will also have to be alternative vaccinations for Muslims, Vegetarians and Vegans too.

Of course it is true. Have you not seen how white his skin is now?

Great. Just what we need.
Did you read today about lab monkeys escaping with Coronavirus samples after attacking an assistant in an Indian laboratory?
I thought it was April 1st for a second.
I swear that's how Planet of the Apes started.

An aide has probably secretly swapped his Maybelline Superstay powder from Sand Beige to Ivory.
It is for the best.
