Reporting LIVE from Slovakia | They also want out of EU!
I'm in Nitra, Slovakia. I've been here for 5 days on business and I have learnt of something that is not being reported on any mainstream media platform... Slovakian people are protesting outside the Bratislavia Castle in their thousands to demand a referendum on leaving the EU.
Slovexit... you read it here first! More on this as I hear it. I'm here for 3 more days.

Very likely a group of pro-Putin activists/troublemakers, trying to hive off Eastern lands....Remember what happened in Ukraine.

Interesting! Like most of us I think, we are totally unaware of anything outside of Europe - the media does not cover it, and you don't know to find out until someone refers to it as you have done.
Stems back to the issue which affected elections there in March. A young journalist and his fiancee were murdered in Slovakia. The journalist had been investigating cases of fraud with businesses associated with the government. A multi millionaire businessman has been charged with organising the murders and the PM was forced to resign. Elections in March were won by an Anti corruption supporter - the first woman President in Slovakia.
Hot on the heels of this corruption were issues concerning EU payments relating to the Agriculture Policies,
".... irregularities in EU farm subsidy payments first made public by murdered journalist Jan Kuciak."
Since then there have been several protests in Slovakia.
Slovakia belongs to the Visegrad group, along with Poland, Hungary and the Czech public. Where there is growing dissent against the EU.

Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Italy, Greece ALL want out of the EU. And that is why we were never in a million years going to get a good deal on Brexit, because if we did there'd be a queue of other nations behind us all wanting the same (or similar) deal for their own exit.
I'm only happy when it rains....

They don't at the moment. But they are all led by populists - 5 star, golden dawn etc. Very much in the Farage mould. No doubt all have connections to Bannon somewhere along the line.
Sadly, as in this country, they'll do a lot of damage before people see through them. The type of people our grandparents fought against are on the rise again.

Populists, the new insult from the I'm alright Jack Brigade,
populist
a person, especially a politician, who strives to appeal to ordinary people who feel that their concerns are disregarded by established elite groups.
Ghastly people imagine wanting to appeal to ordinary people disregarded by established elite groups.
There was a time the Labour Party might have appealed to the ordinary people.

Good Jesus, you had to look it up?
Try this definition for size, you might recognise it:
In its contemporary understanding, however, populism is most often associated with an authoritarian form of politics. Populist politics, following this definition, revolves around a charismatic leader who appeals to and claims to embody the will of the people in order to consolidate his own power. In this personalized form of politics, political parties lose their importance, and elections serve to confirm the leader’s authority rather than to reflect the different allegiances of the people.
Perhaps you might recognise yourself as the mug who is being played like an old piano in this piece:
populists are disruptive. They position themselves as outsiders who are radically different and separate from the existing order. So they frequently advocate for a change to the status quo and may champion the need for urgent structural change, whether that is economic or cultural. They often do this by promoting a sense of crisis (whether true or not), and presenting themselves as having the solution to the crisis.
You'll never turn into a real boy while you're having your strings pulled, Pinocchio.

Diane Abbott, the 7 times elected MP, who won the Spectator magazine's 'Parliamentary Speech of the Year' award?
I'll take that, thank you very much.
How very kind.
