Quite a high tech bunch Egyptians for their time , All these early civilisations had to invent or discover everything for themselves because unlike later civilisations such as the Greeks in the west or the Chinese in the east, they had no one to learn from. Therefore, the Egyptians had to invented mathematics, geometry, surveying, metallurgy, astronomy, accounting, writing, paper, medicine, the ramp, the lever, the plough, mills for grinding grain and all the paraphernalia that goes with large organised societies and much more, far from running around in their underpants they probably forgot more than the west had discovered .

Erm, ok.
If the Victorian era is dated as 1837 to 1901, then not so long ago would be between 120 and 184 years ago. And presumably you're saying that it was somewhere during that time period that the youth mortality rate was between that 70 to 80% rate.

Still waiting on the mythical country where all these things happened when immigrants took over.
'In living memory'.

Despite being asked numerous times, he's studiously ignoring the question. The only country that I can think of is Israel, but he's not confirmed or denied that Israel is the country he meant.
If it is, his version of the events leading to the creation of the State of Israel is a garbled mess. He totally ignores the fact that these 'incoming migrant refugees' were actually people returning to their ancient homeland, a land that had been taken by numerous Empires for millennia. What follows is equally nonsensical.
Is he ignoring my question because he did mean Israel, and he's realised that his version of how the State of Israel was founded leaves him open to accusations of anti-Zionism or anti-Semitism? Or is the country just a product of his fevered imagination? And so we wait
I have to say that with his recent comments he's nailed his colours to the mast... and it's not a pretty sight.

Life expectancy around 1900 was only around 45 for men slightly more for women.

Infant Mortality (before 1st birthday) was around 20% in 1900, 23% for under 5's

Can't seem to find figures for older children but with a life expectancy in the 40's thing weren't bright and rosey.

I don't mind a few million Pakistanis, a few million Poles, a few million of whatever else comes our way. But I do balk, when one particular group never stops coming and/or procreating, to the point where the character of our Country, if not the Country itself, threatens to be 'taken over' somewhere down the line.

Some did, I've met/know a few of them. But 17 million? Nah, everything in moderation.

A 'group' rather than a nationality?
I'm going to hazard a guess at Muslims.
You do know that about 97% of Pakistanis are Muslims, right? The official name of the country is the Islamic Republic of Pakistan? The whole reason for Pakistan is Islam.
You think they'll 'take over'?
So which country have they taken over to the detriment of the natives?

Seems to me that all this 'migration' both here and elsewhere, e.g. within (but not confined to) the EU, is leading somewhere. That is to say, there could be an unspoken agenda behind it.

I've asked you before, to no avail (as per usual) Assuming that you're referring to your own bête noire, what is the current percentage of Muslims in the UK population? How many years would it take for Muslims to outnumber your lot? Our other resident xenophobe believes it won't be that long until 70 billion of the undesirables have landed in your green and pleasant land. Quite amazing when you consider that the current world population is around 7.9 billion people. That's some frenzied procreation (s)he is expecting.
Do do you actually know any Muslims? I mean apart from the ones you've talked into buying one of your environmentally unfriendly wood stoves? Muslims that you really know well. I would hazard a guess that the answer is no. Your view of them, and the reality, is astonishing.
Talking of unanswered questions. What country did you mean in your 'within living memory' comment? A few of us have asked, and asked, and asked again. I for one won't stop asking until I get an answer. You, the author, should have all of your ducks in a row before making such a claim. Or is this going to be like Local's coal picking, when you had to concede that you were mistaken? Do you wonder why none of us believed the 'Passport Saga'?
Your views are repulsive to me. Fear and hatred of people based on ignorance.
