This is an old thread about Twisty, still going surprizingly.
I'd like to try and get hold of the guy. Barry bought a framed painting off me at the end of the 70's... I'd like a copy if it still exists. Any ideas about his status?

In the early 1960s he attended Birkdale sec modern as a pupil as well teaching there later in life,
At that time used to live at the very top end of part street,
in the late 70s he could quite often be found with Ted Shephard having a beer in the Mount on Manchester Rd

I'd love to know if he's still around as he was one of my favourite teachers from my brief time at Birkdale - Harry Owen and 'Milesy' being my other favourites. Oh, and sexy Paula Webster
Ah the lovely Miss Webster... And for some strange reason I have fond memories of Mrs Lea (music teacher), if I remember correctly she was in the room next to Twisty?
Anyhoo hated school so never went much towards the end but there were some good teachers at Birkdale mixed with some total a**eholes.

I was at school with Barry Twist and a link to some of his exam results from Birkdale Sec Modern in 1965
